We arrived here quite late in the evening but the owner had waited up for us. She gave us very specific directions to our rooms. The rooms weren't fancy but they were clean. The shower was great. It is a convenient place to stay whether visiting Mono Lake or Yosemite. There is a raised outdoor patio with tables and chair... More

There is not a great deal of choice in Lee Vining but Murphey's is ... shall I say, 'adequate'. Adequate that is for a bed if you have no other choice. I tried two rooms. The first was about as far fom the office as possible and it appeared as if the 'quality control' did not reach that far: dirty... More

I spent a couple of nights here on a motorcycle trip down the eastern Sierra. The place is simple, clean, and relatively inexpensive. Making reservations (and then having to change them) on the phone was easy. The check-in was friendly and quick. The room was clean and comfortable, and because I was in the back, away from the highway, quiet.... More

The room was super clean. It was old and outdated. Felt like I was in the eightys. The curtains were thin and the sun came right in. The lights at night outside the door were way bright and with thin curtains it was hard to sleep. I'd stay again because it was quiet and clean.

First of all, we did not stay there, so can't review properly. Nevertheless, we made a very positive experience with this motel: We made a reservation by phone and found the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, on the day of our planned arrival we had to call at 11am to cancel our reservation, because Tioga Pass had been closed for some... More

The room was on the small side, but it was suitable for me as I was traveling by myself. I didn't spend a great deal of time in my room so the size was not really a factor. There are many things to do in the area so the location is good. I don't think there are much better accommodations... More

I think out of habit I just check "hotels" when researching TripAdvisor and don't click the "specialty lodging" or "B&B" options. As such, I didn't notice Murphey's Motel on the listing, which made me nervous. But since the town was booked, and this was the last room, we took a chance. But once in the room I fired up the... I think this is an ideal motel for a one night stay. For the price we were not expecting luxury. We had a ground floor room, we could her noise from adjacent rooms, but this did not keep us awake. the bathroom is very basic, the sink was in the same part of the room as the bed. There were... More

Wonderful, large room, very clean, very nice and friendly staff. Stayed two nights, great sleep, lots of rest, close to Yosemite. Lots of places for meals within walking distance. Very quiet . Overall a really good experience. Would highly recommend it to any one spending a few days in Yosemite.

This motel, as most in Lee Vining, are directly on highway 395. There is regular "Big Rig" truck traffic during the night which sounds even louder over the parking lot into the rooms. The room was clean and the beds were ok. We were so tired that the thought of sleeping in Bodie became attractive. Yes, it is convenient to... More
