When i booked this hotel it was for a stay with my young son for a procedure to be done in L.A. I had travelocity call and check on this hotel for me as i didn't know the area. They assured me it was fine. If your plannning on spending time at your hotel.. this is not a good selection.... more

"Be very careful! I am a frequent business traveler, but never have I experienced anything like this. First of all, although the hotel is close to LAX it is in a terrible neighborhood. Second of all, I stayed there using my priority club points, but to my surprise I was charged for the night anyway. I tried to rectify this,... more

While on 2008 vacation stayed at 3 Holiday Inn Expresses - San Jose, Calif (1350 North Street location - pretty good), Modesto, Calif (Bangs Ave - outstanding) and this one (very bad). This is an old property, extremely run down in perhaps a bad area. Security guard in front office was very visible - armed...looked like Border Patrol. Graffiti etched... more

My family and I had a nice stay at this hotel. It looks nice from the outside. There is a security guard on the property doing his job (when not talking or texting on their phone). Front desk is nice and professional. We stayed in a suite and it was roomy and clean. The room could use a little updating,... more

Do not stay here if you're expecting an airport hotel. This is 30 minutes away. They don't have a roving shuttle. You have to call for them to send it. This means it's over an hour from the time you call until you get to your hotel - a big inconvenience. The shuttle also stops running at 11 PM which... more

Stayed Saturday night before flight home next day. Very very clean room, excellent, professional, and helpful staff. A lot of effort was made to make breakfast an enjoyable experience - plenty of choice for a small hotel, niceley cooked and presented. Overall, I cannot fault his hotel at all. The only slight problem for me was the location - not... more

We stayed only the night before our early morning flight out of LAX. The hotel is very nice - clean, comfortable and quiet. I had tried to locate a hotel a little closer to LAX but the reviews were either bad or the prices were far too high. This hotel isn't really close to anything but you can easily be... more

This isn't a fancy hotel, but you have all the confort in the room, considering an affordable price. Microwave included in room and a simple breakfast. South Bay Gallery is some blocks away from the hotel. more

We compared a lot of hotels in and around LA to find a place close to the sights we would be visiting during our vacation to California. We decided on the HI-Lawndale because it was in our price range, had been totally refurbished (new luxury bedding that was SO comfortable, new fixtures, drapes, furniture, linens, paint, etc...) the rooms have... more

Hotel itself was ok. Clean. You can tell they are tryiing to pretty it up. It is close to the airport - but not for people on a California vacation. Away from almost everything. There are restaurants around - but we were not thrilled. You have Taco Bell, Pizza places - but the others - didn't want to walk in... more
