I was at The Lodge three years ago and remembered if fondly, but it wasn't so great this time. Maybe just a fluke? Maybe I had spoiled myself by staying at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad earlier in the summer? (fantastic). The setting is gorgeous and the golfing looks fine (I don't golf), but for a family there are... More

The is a gorgeous craftsman-styled hotel. The hotel itself, the landscaping, the pool, the golf course views--all are stunning. The pool is a salt-water pool with classical music playing (but you can only hear it underwater). Outside (and inside, somehow), the scents of sage, rosemary, and pine sweeten the air. We found the staff to be accommodating in an understated... More

This is a great high end hotel. I stayed here for business and ihad a very comfortable stay. The hotel is known for it's famous golf course, which hosted the 2008 US Golf Open. I don't play golf, but it is a beautiful course. Because of the golf course, the hotel hosts a lot of men, which accounts for the... More

This hotel is top notch. The staff is very attentive, the room was excellent. We were here to celebrate our tenth anniversary, andq loved every bit of it. From the restaurants, to the spa, to the golf, all top notch. It is a bit expensive, but worth it!

My husband, 6 year old daughter and I have just returned from 5 nights at this wonderful hotel. The building and furnishings are beautiful; it's an Arts and Crafts haven, enhanced by wonderful original period artwork. From the moment that we checked in we felt welcome and comfortable. The staff were all helpful and charming, yet low key. Our room... More

On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give this hotel a 7. The 2008 US open put this place on the map. Don’t get me wrong the place is nice and the people are very friendly it's just old. The mattress on our bed needed to be replaced. You got the feeling that your head was below your... More

Stayed here with my family for my husband's birthday--a milestone one! We loved it so much that we stayed longer than we originally planned! We've stayed in San Diego on the bay before and wondered if staying in La Jolla would feel too "far away" from the zoo, sea world, etc.. Just the opposite. We loved the location and it... More

So this is like a Frank Lloyd Wright mansion. It is spread out overlooking a large golf course. There is also a pool and a crochet lawn (cute) We came with a two year old which wasn't such a good idea as this is a not a family place for younger children. It is just too nice and proper. That... The hotel is really well done up on the inside & on the exterior, but it does have an old town feel to it. It has the most beautiful swimming pool and a fabulous golf course right outside. Parking costs an even 22$/night (self- parking) and 27$ for Valet parking. We(my husband and I ) were eagerly looking forward to... More

The Lodge at Torrey Pines lives up to its reputation. It is beautiful, inside and out. The attention to detail is lovely. The Spa is excellent, our massages were just wonderful. All of the people working at the spa were knowledgeable and experienced. We had dinner at A.R. Valentien which is a fine restaurant that also lives up to its... More
