We stayed in SD La Jolla Marriott for a couple of nights. I want to mention right away that this hotel is situated on the edge of La Jolla and nowhere close to the beaches. And it is not nearly as luxurious and tourist friendly as Marriott says it is. It is more of a conference hotel, in the middle... more

The convenience to Thornton Hospital and UCSD is great...but it ends there. The room is okay, but very small. I booked a room with a balcony and while some do have balconies and chairs (to get some fresh air) mine for some reason only has a balcony that you can step out on and stand sideways. I discovered all the... more

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a full five days, as I was attending a conference. We appreciated their wonderful food, and the cleanliness of the room, but we were so disappointed that there was no free wi-fi in the lobby. The only way to get internet connection was to pay the $12 daily rate (noon to... more

I visited the Marriott for the second time on business. The rate of 275 does not include parking which was an additional 25. The internet was an additional 10. The location is somewhat convenient, but note that if you are working on the west side of the 5 you will have a long wait in traffic to get to the... more

This hotel has undergone a major renovation that has been completed within the past year and it now truly is on par with other Marriott properties. All employees were quite pleasant and possessed that Marriott "what can we do for you" attitude. Definitely a trait that helps to separate it from the other major chains. In addition, the rooms and... more

My wife and I just returned from the fourth of July weekend and stayed for three nights at the Marriott La Jolla. The hotel has obviously been remodeled recently, with upscale modern decor in the front desk area and nice furnishings in room. The bed and duvet bedding were excellent. (better than at home) The granite topped dresser is nice... more

Wonderful hotel. We asked for room on upper floor received it. Sometimes you're treated as a "low rent rendezvous" customer when you book on Priceline. Not at this hotel. They were accomodating and friendly. We checked in about 1 pm-no problem. $18 to park is always a bummer but nice garage with in/out privileges. Way less than SF for that... more

I stayed at the Mariott in La Jolla, California for a business conference. It is a very nice property and the accomodations were very nice. However, the area doesn't lend itself to activities very well. Although the beach and golf course is within 'reasonable' distance, there is nothing to speak of within walking distance (including decent restaurants). Services, pool, and... more

Very small rooms. Smelled like stale cigarettes even though hotel is non-smoking. AC didn't work well. $18 per day to park. We broke a glass, and it took more than an hour for housekeeping to come even though they knew we had small children in the room. We asked for a roll away bed, and they never provided one which... more

I stayed at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla for two nights in mid-April 2008. The rooms are the standard Marriott rooms - comfy beds, flat screen tv, marble tile baths, etc. - pretty nice. However, the service at this Marriott was sub-par, definitely not the normal Marriott service I have received from other Marriott hotels. The front desk was... more
