My boyfriend and I loved our stay here! The grounds are beautiful and our cottage was charming. We woke to birds chirping every morning and were lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean each night. It was nice being in the middle of everything without being in the middle of everything.

This spot is a treasure! The cottages are tucked away in an incredible garden. So glad this hasn't been scooped up and turned into condos! The cottages are unique, rustic, and very comfortable. Our cottage had a fireplace which we loved. The staff is quite helpful and had a pack-n-play waiting for our baby. We loved it!

Thank you for taking the time to write nice comments about our beach cottages. The fact that we have historic designation on part of our property will preserve the character of the gardens for the future of the property. We cherish all of our guests who stay with us, and our return guests are very special, so please come back! More

Our family had a wonderful experience in every way. Perfect location, wonderful staff and excellent facility. It is walking distance from the beach and the village. A home run. I wish I was there now!

We were only there 2 nights, but loved our cabin. It was very comfortable, had every amenity we needed, and we loved the funky atmosphere of that era. The innkeeper was very helpful, letting us check in early, and check out late and being there to answer our questions. There was a basket full of goodies including coffee and popcorn... More

Thanks so much for your descriptive and kind review for Redwood Hollow-La Jolla cottages. .We are in a wonderful beach and town location. You described the atmosphere here perfectly as "funky". There are many eccentricities that go along with this historic beach area property that was never meant to be gentrified. Please remember our return guest discount when you plan... More

La Jolla and San Diego was our first stop on a 3 week road trip. Redwood Hollow are little cottages in a 'rustic' setting within gardens at the far end of La Jolla town. These cottages are reasonable priced (though everything there is expensive) and if you fancy somewhere quiet are perfect. As one other reviewer pointed out they are... More

Thanks so much for your review. Once you park your car or take public transportation here, every place of interest is walkable, including an almost private sandy beach about 400 feet away. Our property is reasonably priced for the area and for the amount of privacy and space the cottages have. As you alluded to in your review, we like... More

We can now be added to the ranks of folks who consider the Wisteria cabin to be "their" cabin. We arrived on a recent Sunday afternoon for a four day stay at the Redwood Hollow Guest Cabins and were delighted to find we essentially had the place to ourselves for most of the time we were checked in. Our Inn... More

We appreciate your review and the compliments for our staff. We are small enough to give individual attention. The description captures the fact that this is a historic garden beach cottage property, never meant to be anything else from the get go. Thanks again for your perceptive description and for ther compliment for me! More

We loved RedWood Hollow! It was exactly what we were looking for...a charming, historic, low key, close to the beach, live like the locals type of place. I had done my research beforehand and was not disappointed! We were also surprised with an upgrade when the LaJolla Beach Cottage became available. This cabin is a large two bedroom cottage with... These are charming cottages tucked away in the middle of a quiet neighborhood only 1 block from the beach. Each cottage is down a vine draped path with lots of trees and vegetation and most seem to have their own private patio/courtyard. We fell in love with this location. We bought breakfast items at a local grocery store and ate... More

The location is not too bad. It's a short walk (.5 mile) to the main village. It's inside a residential neighborhood. It is a quaint little garden and cottages (beach haven). The issues include the following: the sea gulls are very loud and windows cannot be closed and if they could it probably wouldn't help as they are thin. Bring... More

This was our third weekend getaway at Redwood Hollow, and I'm certain that it won't be our last. For our most recent stay, we were in the Wisteria cabin, surrounded by plants and flowers, fresh air, and the scent of the abundant star jasmine blooming outside our windows. Stress disappeared instantly! We love the quiet, relaxing ambience and the feeling... More
