We loved this hotel! The staff was friendly from the start. They accidentally put us in the wrong room at first because we had booked for 4 people, but our first room had only one bed. They quickly got us moved to the right room and brought up a travel crib and our room (#222) had a view of the... More

If you are not looking for elegance and luxury at the beach this hotel is for you. LJS Hotel is comfortable, clean and very convenient. Rooms are simple and well maintained. Staff are helpful and friendly. We have been coming here for many years to enjoy the beach. The bar menu and happy hour are good food choices. The Shores... More

Great location! The rooms are really outdated and a little uncomfortable, but who cares?! We adored having a glass of wine on the balcony at night overlooking La Jolla Shores. The waffles up on the roof with a pretty view at breakfast were great, too. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

While planning a family vacation to San Diego I came across this intriguing hotel. Reading the reviews I knew that we had to try it. We had a late flight and by the time we got our rental car and made it to the hotel it was midnight. We were dead tired and I'm sure it showed. The clerk at... More

This was a highly anti caped vacation for me and my wife. From the entrance of the hotel you get that calming and beach feel. Our room overlooked the ocean it was beautiful, and we were just steps away from the massaging sand and shoreline. The hotel is in the absolute perfect location. This is a $100 location itself. And... More

This hotel gives you the beach access that is so hard to find in La Jolla. Some reviews complained about the age of the hotel. Yes, it is a bit older than new mega hotels, and that shows mainly in the walls (older decor) and in the AC units (which were a bit sluggish, probably due to age). But this... More

This was our second stay at this property. We love this hotel. The location is awesome. The shuttle service to The Village is great. My only recommendation would be to book an oceanfront room. My husband ordered huevos rancheros from room service. It was fabulous. We had a wonderful anniversary get away.

This hotel was lovely. It was clean and absolutely beautiful, right on the beach. The plush landscaping was really nice and enjoyable. You are paying for location, the rooms are average. One small spa, and average size pool which are both overrun with kids nowdays. I suggest a room facing the beach. Even though the one we had was at the... More

We recently stayed at the property and had a great time. The hotel is right on the beach and is one of the few in the area that has such a prime location. The room we had was a beachfront that had a kitchen and sitting area, along with a decent size balcony that had the beachfront view. The restaurant... More

You can't get closer to the beach than this hotel. We had three rooms, all of which were just feet from the sand and waves. The beach itself is wide and flat, although busy on the weekends with families, surfers, scuba divers, etc. The hotel staff is quite friendly and accommodating. The rooms themselves are fine -- not luxurious, but... More
