A great place to get away from it all, perhaps including communication with the outside world. Well-kept 1950's motel is sandwiched between the fabulous Del Norte and Prairie Creek redwood groves, and immediately adjacent to Redwood National Park coastal stretch. This motel makes you feel like you've gone back a few years. The only real update they have is a flat screen t.v. in the room, but the channels came in a little fuzzy. Found the room clean, the bed comfortable. The decor is definatly different, with forest scenes (including artificial squirrels) in each room. TV system is basic, no HD, this is not a modern hotel. We stayed here for its central location in the Redwoods. It's a basic roadside motel. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and affordable. Our room was a two-room suite with refrigerator, microwave, TV, and coffee maker. If you have an extra blanket, bring it.
