We stayed there by mere opportunity. We were on a road trip and stumbled upon it. Very clean and affordable. There is a hidden trail right behind the hotel. Awesome treasures to hike. (Hidden Beach Trail)The restaurant next to the hotel was good and very convenient. We will definitely stay there again. Very clean hotel.

The staff were very pleasant, the room and bed was very clean. Very spacious with a 1950's decor. The bathroom was remodeled with modern flare. The shower water does leak on the floor a bit but that is because the floor in the shower is not very concave. The wifi doesn't work well due to the hotels location and amount... More

This place is awesome. We were in room #8 and it was actually two bedrooms. Super clean, the shower water was plenty hot (other reviews had me worried) and the walk to the hidden beach was AMAZING!!! Other reviews mentioned murals and toy squirrels... None of that in our room 😊We didn't want to leave! Restaurant was decent... Overpriced coffee... More

After touring the Trees of Mystery attraction we were both hungry and concerned about where to spend the night. Directly across the road from the Trees of Mystery is the Trees Motel and the Forest Restaurant. As it was getting on in the evening, we decided to give it a shot. As we later discovered, the same family owns and... More

Spotlessly clean, and really friendly service from both the management and cafe staff. Being that it's located in the redwood forest, there's very little cell service and very little wifi. All rooms are large-ish and comfortable. The decor is rustic and keeps within the local theme. The cafe, beautifully decorated and also immaculate. Wrought iron hanging fixtures without dust, and... After reading the reviews I was a little leery about staying here. We were pleasantly surprised. Our room (we spent the extra 20 dollars for the two room unit) was spacious and clean and included a mini fridge. Mystery of Trees was fun and and well worth the cost. The attached restaurant is pricey for what you get, but otherwise... More

I have actually stayed here a couple of times over the past few years after having spent a lot of my childhood traveling through the redwoods. It is a small, quaint motel that is very reminiscent of the type motels we used to see when traveling as kids 40 years ago. Rooms are reasonable, they are clean, they are comfortable,... More

Well appointed, spacious room, with good bed, clean linen and towels, very nice bathroom. Included in our $71 was fridge, micro wave, Ft/TV/with HBO and in room coffee (the coffee is really bad). On the down side, wireless Internet was very weak and the wonderful shower was not hot, warm at best. We couldn't eat at the adjacent Cafe because... More

Mine was the only one other room occupied that night, yet charged $110 plus $40 pet fee. Office door was locked at 6:45 so had to conduct business through a window. The clerk wrote my credit card number in a guest book that sits on the office counter accessible to other guests when office is open and unattended. When I... More

A great place to get away from it all, perhaps including communication with the outside world. Well-kept 1950's motel is sandwiched between the fabulous Del Norte and Prairie Creek redwood groves, and immediately adjacent to Redwood National Park coastal stretch. In 15 minutes you can walk to spectacular and secluded Hidden Beach, and probably have it to yourself. My spacious... More
