A great place to get away from it all, perhaps including communication with the outside world. Well-kept 1950's motel is sandwiched between the fabulous Del Norte and Prairie Creek redwood groves, and immediately adjacent to Redwood National Park coastal stretch. In 15 minutes you can walk to spectacular and secluded Hidden Beach, and probably have it to yourself. My spacious... More

This motel makes you feel like you've gone back a few years. The only real update they have is a flat screen t.v. in the room, but the channels came in a little fuzzy. The water had a yellow tint, they do provide bottled water for the coffee/tea maker. I wouldn't be surprised if they have bed bugs. You are... More

If Trees of Mystery is where you'll be at the end of your day, this place is OK. It's very clean. But it needs updated. And even though it says it has free wifi, good luck with getting it to actually work for you--because it might or might not or it might work and then stop working right in the... More

I really wanted to visit Trees of Mystery and tried to find a nearby motel. I almost booked a motel in Crescent City, and was planning to drive back south in the morning, when I found Motel Trees, which is located just across the road from Trees of Mistery. You have to book a room over the phone, and the... More

Booked the room over the phone so was not sure what to expect. When we got there the desk clerk was friendly but that was the only dealing we had with the staff. The room was clean and yes face the highway but all in all it was a good place to stay. No Internet but then again if your... More

The rooms may look clean and well maintained, but if you are expecting service with a friendly smile don't stay here. I booked two rooms for relatives and was treated with a very cold suspicious attitude on the phone by a middle aged woman. I had to deal with her when she didn't like when I substituted one relative for... More

Found the room clean, the bed comfortable. The decor is definatly different, with forest scenes (including artificial squirrels) in each room. TV system is basic, no HD, this is not a modern hotel. As noted earlier, the water is indeed strange. When you look in the toilet bowl, it appears someone forgot to flush. But then, you flush and find... More

I'm glad I took the chance! Before booking I read many reviews and was cautious! Had been traveling for several days with family seeing the sights, and spending a lot of $$ on lesser hotels in a short amount of time. Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. My young son said this was the best hotel yet! He had his... More

We stayed here for its central location in the Redwoods. It's a basic roadside motel. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and affordable. Our room was a two-room suite with refrigerator, microwave, TV, and coffee maker. If you have an extra blanket, bring it.

I'm sure this place was once cute, right across the highway from Trees of Mystery, with Paul Bunyon and his blue ox Babe looking down. Maybe some rooms are better than others. We were told check-in was 2pm-10pm, and we checkde in at 9:40pm, which clearly was not desired. You're not allowed in the office that late, but have to... More
