Stayed here in summer for a nearby wedding - honestly considered driving 2 hours home instead of staying in our room. Our first room smelled like a locker room and was decorated like a bad vacation home from the 80s. Carpets were stained, which might've been okay if the bed had clean sheets. The Kirkwood Base Camp facility has the best location for skiers, literally ski-in/ski-out. We stayed in Kirkwood for the weekend to take advantage of the fresh powder. Having never been there before, I took the booking agent's recommendation and reserved a room in the Base camp. Mistake. We stayed in Unit #1 -- I don't know if these are individually owned or different. Pros: - short walk across the street from Village and... More

I am a pass holder at Kirkwood. I have stayed in multiple lodging facilities and have had great experiences. However, recently, I booked a last minute night at Kirkwood to enjoy fresh snow and were given a room at the Basecamp. The rooms are in need of a major renovation. The carpet and furniture are old and nasty. When I... More
