This hostel is a gem. It is so cute and quiet and the homemade breakfast was delicious. Much care goes into everything they do. Great common area and free bikes to borrow, great location and very clean. LOVED it!

Stayed here for two months during the winter of 2014. Can't say enough positive things about the place. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished (definitely the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed at). Kitchen supplies were amazing. We always looked forward to the breakfasts on the weekends. The staff at hostel illustrate what a difference employees can make. Everyone... More

Spent 2 nights here in October 2013 and it was the perfect base for our trip up from San Francisco to explore Lake Tahoe. Great value for money, rooms are basic but clean and functional and we had a very good ensuite bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful, good kitchen and lounge facilities. We were lucky enough to enjoy the homemade... More

On the East side of Kings Beach it is in a great location for seeing the city. We stayed in the private queen on the backside of the hostel and it was really nice. Used to be a rundown motel but cleaned up good. Only downside for me is the proximity to 89 and Kings Beach road construction. U can... More

Stayed here for almost a month to train for the ironman in September. Its a very clean, social, green and lovely place to stay. The staff is very hard working and always busy, but also in for a nice social talk! Loved my stay here.. I really couldn't have found a better place to prepare myself for the race! Thank you... More

This hostel was relaxing, comfortable and close to bunch of the ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area. I recommend this hostel to any traveler. You... More

It might be because I had a private room with my friend since it was slightly cheaper than doing the dorm, but the room was amazing. It could have easily fit 4-5 people. The room was clean, spacious, and bathroom with full tub was perfect. The kitchen was state of the art, had plenty of room for long stays with... More

Even though there wasn’t a lot of snow, the people I met at the hostel more than made up for any disappointment. Rooms were a good size. Stayed in Room 2, female dorm, 4 beds with attached bathroom. Was clean and warm. The only problem was when the heat was on, the top bunk got a little on the warm... More

We have absolute admiration for the staff at Hostel Tahoe who always have a smile and keep such a beautifully clean, homely and attractive hostel....We spent just three nights here..met lovely people in the kitchen!! Our bedroom and bathroom were better than many hotels we have stayed in...so fresh, pretty and clean...not your normal basics you find in most hostels....... More
