We had a great experience at the island. We stayed one night in a bungalow and one night at bale. Both were great. Although it's a big diference. Make sure to check that before you book. The trips they organise we're also great and delivered what they say it would. Food is nice and romanicly served on the beach and... More

Major advantages are that it is away from the noisy Labuan Bajo and closer to the diving sites. It also has a branch of a diving shop onsite which makes re diving everything easier. Bungalows were simple but with everything you need. Restaurant on site is fine but do not expect much and a bit expensive, service was very nice... More

We returned to Kanawa Beach for the snorkeling after six months. This time we stayed in the large bungalow on the right side of the "complex". Very comfortable and clean. The staff in the restaurant was much better trained then half year ago. The service was faster and more professional. Take a walk around the island at low tide, but... More

Great place and base for divers. Very cool and friendly service, rustic ambience, and fair reef for snorkeling. The worst thing for me on Kanawa was eating, I'm a typical lover of meat so the diet of pasta, seafood ,fruits and light snacks for me was insufficient. Generally cheap, nice and forget about the problems of the whole world. Note... More

We rented a bale-type room because the bungalows were fully booked. Bale and tents were very small and had no bathrooms, so it was a bit inconvenient to go to the common facilities in the middle of the night. And to use as little water as possible (the island has no fresh water) was a challenge for most people. It... More

After traveling a long time in Indonesia, we decided to finish our trip in this country by hopping to an island and relax for a few days. When we arrived in our Bale Bale (a little bamboohut) in Kanawa, we immediately became aware of the fact that this island still is one of the pure and untouched places where a... More

We have been in kanawa for two weeks almost, the best spot around komodo, prices are similar to many other places like the gili in Lombok, but this place is much better in everything. Relax, beach, diving and snorkeling, people.. You'll find there nice people because accommodation is affordable for everybody. Don't listen to people complaining about everything like food... More

We stayed on this wonderful island resort for one night. Unfortunately we couldn't reserve ahead, reservation is only possible for those who'll stay for minimum 3 days. That's what the office in Bajo told us on the phone. So we couldn't set a fixed itinerary for our holiday, because we have to spare a day for the possibilities of staying... More

Yes, you should definitely go there because the island is a dream, dives are good and it is a good break. Ok the food is more expensive and not as good as in Bali but it is not a big thing. I recommend the Bale.

Really loved my 2 night stay here in a bale (bungalows, and tents yours or theirs, available but bales catch the breezes). Very comfortable mattress and no aircon needed. Loved limited power and connections. Reminded me of very nice African excursions in the past. This is a diver's hub, no doubt but you can arrange snorkelling and you can even... More
