While located one hour from Kyoto, transportation was not issue for issue for us Besides this excellent room, fantastic service, great kaiseki meals that can be served in your room or you can enjoy it in nice restaurant on first floor. We also used both public bath and private onsen, both very great experience. Overall excellent time

Great service and lovely environment. Gives you the full experience of living in Japanese-cultured style housing. We had Japanese course menu served in our own rooms. Menu was great with wonderful selection of sushi, sashimi, tempura, and suki. Lobley desserts. Nice souvenir shop that also sells local delicacies. You can also arrange for a private hot bath - 2-3 minute... More

Did many research with regard to the good hot springs ryokans in Kyoto and by chance got to know that this ryokan is highly recommended by many of its regular customers. The good thing is that they offer day got spring packages which includes lunch. And it costs around SGD 200 for 2 persons.and the service provided at this ryokan... More

We spent one night here in order to rejuvenate following intensive sightseeing in Tokyo. We had a traditional Japanese room that was large, clean and well designed, with a functional attached bathroom. Well, we assume it was functional, as we only used the toilet; we spent most of our waking time in the communal baths (onsen). This was our first... More

I stayed here (Tachibana room) with my friend in July. It was the most amazing ryokan I could have imagined! The dinner was amazing, a real traditional Japanese experience that didn't seem to end because there was so much food. The breakfast had a lot of food as well, so you wont leave this place feeling hungry. It is located... More

I was in Kyoto only for 5 days & LOVE onsens. I found this place online & found out Yoko Ono & John Lennon stayed here many years ago. Its a retreat in Yunohana which is a picturesque train ride through the mountains of Kyoto. When I arrived they greeted me at the courtesy bus & escorted me to there... More

While we did not stay at this Ryokan, the Kaiseki dinner and the onsen (hot spring bath) experience was ABSOLUTELY SUPERLATIVE. For non-Japanese the public bath experience can be intimidating, so the private hot-bath experience in the open-air natural pool environment helped ease the fears. Fortunately, it was cold evening, so the hot bath was an ethereal experience. The Kaiseki... More
