Simple hotel, very good service and food quality is very good. Sashimi is very fresh. Onsen is not much to boast about. Simple and rather old place but the service quality makes up for it. Walking distance from Jigokudani (Hell Valley). Strong sulphur smell permeates the whole area due to the volcano but personally it doesn't bother me at all.

Noboribetsu is famous for their sulphuric onsens so there are a lot of hotels and ryokans to choose from. I decided on this ryokan because i wanted a more traditional ambiance and if you go for the bigger and much grander hotels like Noboribetsu daiichi, you'll end up with a generic western hotel room. That wasn't what i wanted, so... More

This is one tradition Japanese hotel I found in Noboribetsu. The staff is kind, warm and friendly, we drove there and it was not a problem finding this hotel. This hotel is within walking distance to all the attraction. however, we choose to drive around the area to explore instead Our room comes with two type of bed, the Tradition... More

Travelled with hubby and another friend. There were concerns on how to get to the ryokan as it was located at the end of the Noboribetsu Onsen Town. The Donan Bus (JPY 340 oneway) from the JR rail station normally ends at the Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Terminal, but we lucky in getting one that travelled the route of the main... More

This ryokan is absolutely a must-stay and it is so welcoming a reception that you will feel so loved almost immediately. This ryokan came with a Sulphuric onsen which left me fresh and glowing, followed by in-room kaiseki meal that left me crying for more! The dinner ended on a sweet note of an apple sorbet - so fresh and... More

This is second visit to OYADO Kiyomizuya tagging along with 3 more guests. It is so heart warming that the Owner of Oyado offers sweet, fresh steamed corns for us when we reached the hotel on the same day....kind gesture but it is the thought that means alot. We stayed for all 3 nights and really enjoy the cozy, embience... More

This is a charming, simple ryokan run by a polite gentleman who speaks good English and very helpful with explaining the sights of the town. It is centrally located ands within walking distance of good restaurants (try the handmade soba place down the road!) and of course the "hells". We were given a large room facing the river. The onsen... More

We stayed here for one night in April, during a three-night visit to Hokkaido. As another recent reviewer put it, this place is dated, but very charming. The rooms were exceptionally large - much bigger than any other hotel I've seen in Japan. (It may be that we got the best rooms since it was so quiet that time of... More

we booked this ryokan for 2 nights, and to be honest, we were quite disappointed there are no aircon in the rooms, only electic fans, and the staff suggested we open the windows (which is fine, since it's cooler at night, and there's a protective netting which prevents insects from flying in) water in the bathroom takes a really long... We stayed here as part of an organised self-guided tour. Pulling up at this small, family-run (we think) ryokan we were immediately impressed by the quick service to come to the car, help with our luggage and arrange valet parking. The common areas and rooms are somewhat dated in an 80s kind of way, but very clean. The highlight was... More
