We stayed here for one night, arriving at night. It was a 10-minute bus ride from the JR Noboribetsu Station, but the bus operates infrequently (about once per hour). Once at the hot spring village, the hotel was within 10 minute walk. The hotel is one of the best hot spring hotels in the area. It is a classy building... More

HUGE hotel - yes. Noisy tour groups - yes. Holiday camp feeling at the breakfast buffet - yes. But it is all big enough to get away - we reserved dinner (English menu is a nice touch, so you know what you are eating!) in our room, enjoyed the big baths, a festival outside, and two hikes (daytime and nighttime)... It's the first stop of our company trip, they have a huge onsen spa, countless indoor and outdoor water spa and natural onsen with different healing effects. Really enjoy the outdoor onsen, very quiet and relaxing. Spacious bathing area with semi private compartment, allow you to washaway before getting into all the onsen beauty spa. They have traditional Japanese style... More

It was my 4th times to visit Noboribetsu but is my first time to stay in this hotel. I can said this is one of the best Onsen hotel in the area and we really enjoy it !! The room is big but look a bit old (we stay in west building). Buffet dinner and Breakfast was good enough. Didn't... More

The hotel is close to the volcano and the bear zoo. The hotel has a long history and is large. The staff are friendly, and the onsen is big - for the men's one, there are onsen on 2 floors. The room is standard Japanese hotel room, and the central heating is working fine. Unfortunately there is no wifi in... More

Stayed in the Daiichi Takimotokan for the 2nd time this Dec. The first time was in Dec 2013. Had the Japanese room in the Main Building. Reception service was good, even though their English was a bit halting. The lady who took us to our room spoke little English too, but she managed to show us the various parts of... More

We stayed in this hotel Dec. 23-24. It was our family's first time to stay in a traditional Japanese room and experience going to an onsen. It was a very exhilirating experience. You can don kimonos together with Japanese slippers and go around the hotel and dinner area. The eating area has a canteen-like setup. Food is generally the same... More

Stayed 2 nights in a traditional styled room in the main building. Opted for half board and glad we did. Wonderful meals at the Japanese restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful. Had a relaxing time at the enormous onsen, especially enjoyed the outdoor onsen. The hotel is very close to Hell Valley and we enjoyed the amazing walks in... More

Having had amazing foodie experiences around Japan we were in for a rude shock at the hotel buffet which was paid extra for. The food is very average -we're talking Bain Marie food - and the atmosphere even worse with a large number of tour groups chattering in a canteen style setting. Not really what I was expecting from previous... More
