This hotel is in a pretty central location and is a short walk to practically all the attractions in Noboribetsu. The Japanese-layout room is not particularly large especially for a family of 4 but the onsen and dinner more than made up for it. There are several pools in the onsen, each with different mineral content and water temperatures. The... More

We stayed here for a night in a Japanese style room. I have to say the onsen is amazing in this hotel. They claimed they have the biggest onsen in Japan and they could well be right. There are basically two floors with indoor and outdoor onsen that switches between male and female at different times of the day. Each... More

During my 5 days visit, I stayed at 4 different hotels, but this is my favorite. I absolutely love the outdoor springs. I was a little shy at first but was not sorry I tried it. The red berries hanging off of trees, the snow, the steam, and the silver moon...it was like some place right out of a dream~I... More

Stayed for 1 night in September, in a Japanese room. Room was turned down into a tatami sleeping for 3 of us at night. Interesting experience for my 4 year old daughter. Was a bit cold at night though. Amazing outdoor onsen - very very relaxing to sit in the hot pool and enjoy the garden atmosphere. Must do when... More

Just to be clear. if you are looking for a traditional ryokan experience, this is not the hotel for you. This is an affordable large tourist ryokan hotel. The upside is that the hotel is famous for its many large indoor and outdoor onsens which was fantastic. There is an outdoor onsen with slides to entertain children. We could easily... More

Clean rooms, buffet was okay, though I wouldn't say it's the best, but the best of all, great onsen. The changing room was huge, there were quite a few indoor pools and best of all the outdoor rock garden pool..that magical moment when the snow falls in your head and you are soaking in a hot pool is one that... The Mahoroba is one of the better Japanese-style hotels my family and I have experienced in Hokkaido. It has good Onsens, the buffet spread is very good. Service is very good. Food quality and ingredient freshness are beyond comparison. You can't go wrong with this place.

We stayed there as a large group of family for a night. Taking a shuttle bus from Sapporo for about 1.5 h, we reached at the entrance of the hotel where a lot of smiling faces welcoming us. The buffet dinner was just awesome! Boiled crabs (3 different kinds), charcoaled scalps, fresh sashimi, beef stake, Chinese, Western, and a lot... More

Choose the room rates which includes the hotel dinner buffet. You will not regret it. It offers a wide variety of quality dishes. The star if the buffet is their seafood. However, equal attention is placed on the preparation for eg ramen or beef steak, which are the side liners. They taste equally superb! Coupled with the various in-house onsen,... More
