The location of this hotel is fantastic. We were booked into 2 log cabins, very close to the reception. Check in was easy and they have internal transport around the massive grounds with electric mini vans driving people around. We were so close to everything we didn't need this though. The log cabins were a bit dated perhaps, but everything... More

We got a cottage at Karuizawa Prince Hotel East. It is convenient to get to the slopes and to the restaurants in the hotel complex or to the old village. When we arrived at the train station, there was a shuttle bus pickup. In the main hotel lobby however it was chaotic, filled with skiers and their ski sets. Those... More

This hotel should have got a 4-star easily but 2 stars taken away due to their arrangement under the snow weather condition. Arrived at 20:00 on a delayed train due to heavy snow 2 days ago. Information from hotel website indicated that a good 10-15 mins walk from the train station to hotel so we did prepare to go on... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Karuizawa East hotel, and found it convenient for families and for skiing. Will recommend it for families or beginner skiers. Highlights: - ski in/ski out facilities. Only Steps away from the hotel lobby are the chairlifts! - several ski shops for rental, ski lessons close to the hotel, but figuring out the options wasn't... More

We stayed 2 nights, Apr 10 & 11, 2013 at this hotel. It looks like the hotel was built a long time ago but it is generally well kept & maintained. Staff were very nice. The hot spring is of a moderate size. You can get a view of the trees and mountain. This is the only hotel that has... More

Good location, near train station and outlet. Convenient shuttle bus service from station. About 40 minutes walk to Karuizawa main street, but most of them were closed during the winter time. Originally we booked the double room, but we were very lucky to be upgraded to the cottage with two bedrooms and a lounge. Kids can play the snow outside.... More

Have stayed here a number of times, always enjoying good service and always going home happy. The East has less number of rooms vs West, and is feels more private. You can go to the restaurants around the resort by van and its very easy. Recommended for weekend stays traveling from Tokyo.

Enjoyed our 2-night stay at one of the 2-bedroom cottages. Actually there was no vacancy stated on its website, but my mum called up the hotel and somehow managed to book a cottage. Was initially thinking of staying at the Ancient Hotel, but decided on this hotel just for its location and for the novel experience of staying at a... More

In the walking distance, there are severeal ski slopes. When you are tired, you stop skiing and enjoy shopping in the biggest outlet mall in Japan nest to the hotel. There is also hot spa in the same hotel complex. From the Tokyo statoin or Oeno station, you will get to the Karuizawa station by Shinkansen. I really like to... More

This place is quite comfortable to get some relaxed. When you let yourself lay down, you hear chirps of birds. When you soak yourself into the hot spring, you would feel detoxified. I didn't take dinner here but Karuizawa is gourmet town so it is easy to find some fine diner there. Karuizawa Prince Hotel provides a kids program "Mori... More
