To get here take the shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo station heading towards nagano. There are many trains a day on the nagano line, the last one is around 9 -10 pm. If you are late, the complimentary buses do not operate and you will have to take a taxi. Do take note you booked the prince hotel west or... More

Have to stay there as part of a group attending a sport tournament. I understand the original ambition to create an idyllic, norwegian wood shacks in forest setting for this ski resort place. The place is right beside a massive outlet mall which kind of beats the " natural setting" feel but probably is the biggest draw with 90 min... More

Stayed at the Villas for 3 nights. Very comfortable and the service at the villa and lounge were outstanding. Food service available throughout the day. Bikes for use. Onsen was nice. Shopping nearby. Ski slopes just behind. Worth the visit. And certainly worth effort to come. Language may be an issue. Most staff speak English. Some struggle but they try... More

The Prince Karuizawa is one of a group of Prince hotels in the town (and in the same golfing area to the south of the train station), creating a giant resort area with a variety of restaurants and activities centred around golf in the summer and winter sports during the snow season. The hotel offers rooms which are spacious, spotlessly... More

We stayed at the Prince hotel during the World Amateur Team Golf Championship. The hotel is good, very quiet, and offers shuttle busses to the mall, train station and other hotels. The breakfast is good (if included). Otherwise, the restaurant is very expensive (over $150 per person). The staff has very limited english conversation. Nothing to do at night. We... More

First time in Karuizawa, decided to go with "The Price Karuizawa" based on that it seemed like a classic hotel with at least semi-central location. The Superior Twin was nice and well kept. The bathroom area was quite old fashioned with raw brick walls. We were instructed to close the drapes during the day to manage the room heat. During... More

This is not the first time I visited Karuizawa, and I decided to stay at this hotel due to its location and nice restaurant. Hotel provides shuttle service to its sister property, as well as to the nearest JR station. Standard rooms come with lovely views as well. Must dine at the French restaurant for breakfast. Superb view!

The Hotel was nicely located next to a golf course, every morning i will wake with a lovely window view of the golf course, trees and a distant view of the mountain.. simply amazing. The suite we stayed in had two rooms (altogether 4 beds) and 2 bathrooms and one toilet, a small dining area nice for tea and light... More

We stayed at Prince East cottage--- awesome and convenient! 15 meters to the lift! Nice, cozy cabin in the woods. We had a great time and definitely recommend it! Great service and very helpful. Me downside: expect wait for breakfast in main dining room, and secondary dining for breakfast is average .

The friendliness of the staff at this hotel made my stay there with my family a perfect one. The tranquility of this beautiful resort and the beautiful scenary together together gave us a wonderful ski holiday. From making my booking through their Tokyo office, arrival to departure, and also the little personal touch that their housekeeping staff gave you, I... More
