We stayed with our son and his Japanese wife for a weekend. We were told we would have a cottage, but cabin would be a better translation. It was adequate, but quite basic, with en suite bathrooms, a fridge, a kettle and a sink and very little communal space. The weather was good so we were able to carry our... More

The room which i stayed was bigger than usual. It was furnished simply with an air vent at the top of a sealed window which we could open to let in fresh air. The hotel seems popular among group tours and Chinese. It has the feel of being in a chalet than a hotel. Being in this hotel chain means the proximity... More

We, a gang of 5, went Karuizawa for fall color. We booked a cottage for 8 at special price. They offer pick up service from cottage to lobby or other area inside the hotel campus, but you may need to wait for 15 mins during peak hours on weekend. Free shuttle running at fixed schedule is available to the Karuizawa... More

The hotel is situated very close to city centre and outlet shopping mall. For those wanna shopping in outlet, it is the closest hotel in terms of distance ~ a few mins in walking. The hotel is unexpectedly clean and nicely furnished despite the decoration is of old style and aging. I stayed on ground floor, just beside the carpark,... More

Staying in main building, the room is spacious from Japan standard but very low standard. Bed too small. And no double bed avaiable, single bed only. Inside is tried and dirty. Also, it's a bit weird that toliet do not have washing sink, it set inside the bedroom near the door. The hotel scale was large with many sport facilities... More

Nice quaint hotel. Old but maintained impeccably clean! Service was excellent, front desk staff spoke English. Free shuttle from the train station. Hotel is right beside a huge shopping plaza. They also have log cabins in their expansive property. Saw a cable car system probably used during the winter for skiing from the top of the slopes. Wasn't able to... More

Stayed in cottage. Rooms clean and excellent heat. Brought gas cooker so saved on highly overpriced restaurants. (sure its not allowed though). Pandaruman Ski school for kids amazing but 7,000 for 2 hours... Teachers wonderful. Not impressed with Kids Park area costing 1,300 per day for a small bouncy house, tube slide and sled hill(extra 500 yen for sled). Parents... More

The first room we got was filled with a cigarette smell. So we requested a room change. Staff was very attentive in helping us at the checking and with luggages and room change. Hotel is in a walking distance to the outlet mall and offers a drop off service to the East hotel by an electric car apart from the... More

We stayed at this place on the night after a wedding at a different hotel. This was our compromise budget choice even though it wasn't inexpensive. It's basically an old, large hotel that has seen better days. It's been kept up ok but it's the kind of hotel you'll find buses full of budget minded skiiers or other travelers. So... More

Our family stayed at the hotel for four nights (18-22 Dec.). We very much enjoyed our stay and will go again. Note: if you speak no Japanese or can't read Chinese characters, you can still get around but you'll need a bit of patience. Arrival It is extremely easy and convenient to get to Karuizawa from Tokyo. Plenty of trains... More
