My friend and I booked a stay at the Observer's Inn for December 12 & 13, 2009, but weather forecasts of snow prompted us to cancel as neither of us are experienced drivers in snow. The owner was extremely nasty to me when I tried to cancel. There is no refund of monies if you cancel less than 21 days... more

This place is great. It's a B&B, so don't expect 24 hour room service. There are only two rooms in the main building, so if you don't book with friends, you're going to meet someone who's staying in the other room. Observers Inn in a pretty special place. A nice little B&B that is made spectacular by a private observatory on the grounds. The owner, an astronomy buff that retired from a career in the telescope manufacturing industry, gives what are called, "Sky Tours" at night. It was pretty amazing. Sparkling clean rooms, wonderful hosts, and of course the Star Tour - research quality telescopes in private planetarium. Mike and Caroline are fantastic and we can't wait to come back. My kids termed it a "once in a lifetime experience." The hour long star tour actually sometimes (we went twice) lasts close to two hours. What a lot of fun... more
