This was absolutely the worst experience that I've had at a motel. They actually could spend some money and make it fairly nice, but they don't. there is no tv, no cable, no satellite, no tv. The rooms are old and not updated. The showers are decrepit. They are fire traps. The heat is a wall furnace next to the... More

When we pulled in it looked nice, but things went downhill from there. The room was adequate - clean, but could use some updating. We stayed on a Friday night in July, but were the only guests. There was no phone or clock radio in the room and there is no cell-phone service for miles. We were meeting my brother... More

Travelling along Highway 1 - the Pacific/Sonoma Coast - we discovered there were not too many accomodations to be found. Salt Point Lodge was one of the few. Although the reviews were mixed we decided to give it a try. We reserved a room with a queen and two bunkbeds. As there was a restaurant on the premises we thought... More

I paid my money and saw the room, got the spiel and walked away. No phones, no cell phone service, no cable tv, no dvds, no restaurant, no tub. This is a motel from a third world country at California prices. Whatever you do, do not stay there. I have a heart condition and could not stay there by myself... More

I have stayed at the Salt Point Lodge a number of times during various times of the year. It is not for everyone as there are few 'amenities' ... but in my book the spectacular ocean view, relaxing tiled hot tub, and easy-going friendly staff more than make up for no phone or cable tv. The grounds are well kept.... More

After reading reviews on this site and comparing pricing from other lodges, We decided to take a chance and give this place a shot. Sonoma County Coast doesn't offer many inn's to visit, and when you do find one, they are prohibitively expensive--at least within our budget. True, their are no phones in the rooms, no satellite TV, no Wi-Fi... More

We found this property on our way down the coast. The view is incredible, but that's where the fun stopped. The standard "cozy" room was exceptionally tiny and had only a double bed, and not much room for more. That was over $100, so we opted for the "best" room. So, we paid $165 for room #17. It had a... We stayed at Salt Pointe on June 3 for one night. We had a two bedroom suite. Despite the bad reviews, this is not a bad place to stay. The only amenities include a TV and VCR for movies only (no broadcast or cable TV), a coffee pot, a really nice hot tub, and a killer view of the ocean.... More

After reading all of these boldly negative reviews, I started looking else where. But due to the rain, traveling with our 3 month old and family functions all weekend at Ocean Cove, the Salt Point Lodge was the only solution. So, I bit my lip and made a reservation, Fire room, #6. My wife and I were very relieved to... More

Rooms tiny, dark, shabby; funky heater; no ice machine on proerty; tepid hot tub (at nearly $200/night); no motel employee on duty after 9 PM. Cell phones don't work on the coast and there are no phones in the rooms, so if you had a medical or other emergency you'd be out of luck. FWIW, the restaurant has been shuttered... More
