We stayed at the Jenner Inn, taking a much needed time away as a family after the loss of a close family member. The pictures from the website gave a sense of real comfort and beauty. But,the reality is, the place is disgusting. We stayed in the Mill Cottage. It boasted a kitchen and looked like a place we could... More

We drove hours from Humboldt county excited . Room didn't look at all like online. We rented for three days ahead of time . The smell hit us when we opened the door! Fresh brown Dog crap stains not even cleaned up . It stunk worse than a septic tank . Outdated furniture and black hairs all over the bed... More

This room looks nothing like it's website photo. We booked the Grey Whale. Where is the cute furniture? The love seat? The light in the corner? The wicker chair? Oval coffee table, nice rug, pretty bedspread? We paid alot for the room with the river view. I expected better. I expected what the website showed. For $264.18, I got a... More

One of the best hotels in California, even with its deferred maintenance. This is right where the Russian River flows into the sea. Its a magical peaceful estuary where the ripples of ducks and crane on the sunset dappled river takes center stage. The rooms are clean enough. We are lucky this place is here! It's a retreat from the... More

The location is a nice waterfront one (across the street) right on the Russian River inlet to the pacific ocean. However the rooms were old, felt kind of dirty, and just weren't comfortable. No cell service, but that's ok, just know before you go. Around 9 PM, all staff just disappear. I'm not going back here.

I'll start by saying that I am in agreement with other current reviewers that the Inn (we only saw our cottage, The Grey Whale) could use some updates, refurbishment and a good scrubbing, but all of the items were pretty minor and we expected a bit of timeless rustic. An objective eye could likely suggest some rather inexpensive improvements (new... More

A recent trip to Jenner to visit family provided a most pleasant surprise. Driving into this tiny town right on the ocean I experienced a time warp in all the best ways, feeling as if I were back in the '50's. Winding roads lead to charming houses up in the wooded hillsides. The picturesque Russian River meanders to the ocean... More

I'm in the Charles room as I write this. Holes in the walls from old drywall anchors, 3 different window treatments on each of the 3 windows, mold in shower, dust on windowsills and baseboards. This room needed a complete remodel 10 years ago! The hipsters in the office need to embrace the energy of the putty knife and paintbrush.... More

Well, it's a work in progress. It was old but clean. I thought it was a little overpriced for the condition that it is in but $118 plus tax on the coast might be normal. I would like to see it in a few years when the new owners are supposed to refurbish it. We went to the gas station... More

My friends and I booked on-line simply because it was less expensive than Bodega Bay. We booked based on the information from the previous owner. This place is a work in progress, because it is under new, awesome management. The new owner bought this place with a vision....we only got a glimpse of his vision while there, but it seems... More
