We stayed at this great old historic hotel March 15th for one night. It is located on historic main street in Jamestown. We did some wine tasting on Main Street, then checked in and sat on the ld upper balcony enjoying the nice weather and good wine and cheese. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food and service... More

Terral, thanks for your review! While we wish our rooms could accommodate king size beds, there just would be no way for guests to move around. When these old hotels were built back in the 1800s, beds that large were never a consideration. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again when you... More

Great little historic hotel! We stayed there for 1 night last week and check-in was a breeze. We were the only people staying in the hotel that evening so we had the whole place to ourselves! Room 7 was small but the bathroom was good size with a double headed shower. When we checked in we were shown around the... More

Kendal, thanks for taking time to review the National Hotel. We always enjoying knowing that our guests enjoyed their stay! We hope you'll return soon on your next trip to the Mother Lode! More

My visit to this hotel on 1-15-14 was very enjoyable. Front desk personnel were nice, polite, and friendly. My room was very clean, comfortable, and well decorated. It was a refreshing change from the "typical" hotel room. All rooms have access to a Main. St. facing outside balcony to sit and enjoy the "old town feel." Rooms are not furnished... More

After watching three seasons of DEADWOOD we were in a perfect frame for the 1859. Felt back in time.- All the rooms are up a steep flight of stairs-impeccably clean and well decorated. Remember no tvs no phones or .microwaves or refrigs).... The owner, Stephen and Brian, our fabulous bartender made us feel like family. Good cocktails. Sorry we didn't... More

Thanks for your review, Joni! We always enjoy hearing our guests talk about the feeling of stepping back in time when they are here. The restoration of the hotel was an ongoing process for many years after Stephen took ownership. We appreciate hearing that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will return again soon. More

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a short get-together with high school friends. We were met by the bartender, and received a very warm welcome. The hotel has a wonderful relaxing ambiance, and all the rooms have a very inviting and antique feel to them. We stayed in Room 5, which has a queen bed, and antique... More

We had literally flown into SFO that afternoon, and then embarked on a couple of hours drive to Jamestown so were ready to drop when we arrived. The room was very oldey worldy, like stepping back in time! The staff were very welcoming and on hearing that our accommodation in Yosemite was cancelled (the budget debacle) kindly booked us in... The hotel room was typical for an old country inn - except Flo the ghost didn't show up on our visit but the staff made the visit most enjoyable. Our bartender/front desk receptionist welcomed us warmly and the chef who we ran into was extremely enthusiastic about her kitchen and the hotel. Off season at $145 seemed high but there... More

My husband and I stayed here for a short weekend getaway. We stayed in room 3. It was noisy at night because it's over the saloon but it wasn't a big deal for us. As soon as I put my ear plugs in, I couldn't hear anything. The soaking room was awesome. We used it the first night we were... More

So many people love our soaking tub, Susie! We think it's one of life's guilty pleasures. We're glad you took the time to post a review and, more importantly, that you enjoyed your stay with us.
