We came in late around 9:30pm as soon as we came all the staff left and gave us a key to get in and out of the hotel! There were no lights on in the hallways so it made this old converted hospital very creepy. Our room looked nice and old and smelled over a hundred years old. The only... More

Went there for gold panning, what a joke! I looked at the rooms to consider staying here and they were nasty and disgusting. It looked as if someone had slept on the bedspread and it was unkept. The entire hotel smelled musty. The marketing person for the James Town Hotel must be a miracle worker because they sure make their... More

I've actually stayed here a couple times and enjoyed it. It's a hotel with a lot of history-so i don't expect LUXURY. I'm from peninsula area and i love to travel to great hidden jewels and Jamestown is definitely one of them! They are very pet friendly which is a big PLUS for me since i travel with my dog... More

We stayed for one night after a trip to Yosemite. We first checked to see if they had any rooms avaiable and we were allowed to see all the available rooms so we could pick the one we wanted. After we had checked in and dumped our bags we went down for a drink at the bar. The Locals were... More

Jamestown Hotel is a step back in time. The bar is fun and crazy, and the music is loud on fri and sat night for dancing and drinking pleasure. It is very, very laid back and everyone is treated like a local. The rooms are quaint and antique with a balcony that overlooks the main street which is fun to... More

What can I say. Took my family for a small "relaxing" vacation and it was anything but at this hotel. The room was dingy, dirty, and dank. They had no a/c on upstairs, although I saw they had it. The room smelled a lot like "wet dog". The staff was ok, with the exception of the bartender. I think she... More
