We stopped in Jamestown for a quick visit on our way to Tahoe. What a pleasant find ! There are lots of attractions in and around the town and the area. Old gold mine adventure towns. Stopped into the Jamestown Hotel Just been remodeled to its hay day. The rooms are beautiful and the personnel are very helpful and friendly.... More

We wandered in here after a 24-hour ordeal following a minor car accident in Yosemite, and they turned our trip from a nightmare back into a vacation, and a good one at that. Charlie and the rest staff here treated us like family. They asked after our car repair and remembered our names! Food was great. We had an enormous... More

My family and I visited the historic Jamestown Hotel on the 4th of July in the heart of California's Gold Country. The hotel has been lovingly and splendidly restored. We were given a tour of the available hotel rooms. Each was unique, decorated with period antiques and artistic flourish. The bathrooms are newly refurbished and sparkling clean. Our lunch was... We stayed here 21 years ago and as we were going to be in the area, we thought we would stay again, not knowing what to expect. Well, what a transformation. The hotel has been meticulously restored over the past two years and has recently re-opened. It's GORGEOUS! The rooms maintain their Victorian charm. The bathrooms are to die for!... More

For the first time since we've arrived in the USA we found a hotel where everybody is super friendly and kind. The food was good, the rooms are big and the people very nice. We arrived late in the evening but the owners told us that the kitchen would stay open for us, which was exactly what we needed! We... More

I spent the weekend with friends at the freshly rennovated Jamestown Hotel. The rooms are beautiful, the food was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the evenings sitting on the upstairs varanda. The hotel had served as a hospital in the 1940s, and the manager took us downstairs for a tour of what was once the morgue.... More

It was a real treat to stay at this newly renovated beautiful hotel. Each room is unique and charming. Lovely bedding, ample pillows, THICK towels, and a gleaming modern bathroom. My husband and I met up with a group of friends and it was the perfect place to rendezvous for the weekend. A wonderful patio has been added to enjoy... More

Top notch renovation makes this hotel a must visit. The dining areas, bar and patio have been updated but maintain an historic charm. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the modern bathrooms are roomy and brand new but also lend themselves to a period feel. Well done! The staff is friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Can't wait to... More

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the "newly refurbished" Jamestown Hotel. Wow, were we impressed! The rooms retain the period charm with the modern creature comforts of thermal pane windows (our room was really quiet) our own air conditioning, a plush bed with high quality sheets and pillows and a sparkling clean bath with cotton towels to... I had stayed here years ago when it was a old run down historic hotel. But after hearing of the new owners restoration of the place some friends and I decided to give it another try. Holy s$&@! What a change! All the rooms have been renovated with comfy beds and a bath you'd expect in a 5 star hotel.... More
