I have been going to Jacumba for years. If you can get over expectations for a HoJo's in the middle of the chaparral, you'll find it to be clean enuf to be comfortable and enjoy the character of the place. The woman who runs it is very very nice, but the place is really one step up from camping. It could be wonderful, and the gardens are nice. Dirty, Moldy, tiles missing on the floor. My wife and I stayed at the spa for 2 days. We were celebrating our 24 anniversary. We had a great time. The staff from ownership to maids to resterant were all friendly and enthusiastic. The place is an older slightly rundown desert motel in the middle of nowhere with a "manana" mentality, but we really enjoyed it.
