Your heard me right. The National Hotel in historic Jackson, CA is a gem of an historic hotel in the heart of the mother lode. The owners have tastefully and newly modernized this historic hotel meet current codes and restored this landmark to it former glory; infusing modern amenities with its historic ambiance. The hotel is just as everyone has described. The owners have done a great job remodeling the old hotel incorporating modern touches like a/c, comfortable beds and linens while still keeping the integrity and aura of a great old hotel. Our room was tastefully decorated and very clean. We also had a fresh flower arrangement in our room. When was... More

I love to stay at non-chain local hotels, so I thought I'd give the National Hotel a try. They've done a fantastic job with the remodel. I have no idea what it looked like before, but it's very clean and made to look old. Maybe the furniture is new, maybe they are antiques, but it was clean! The room was... More

This hotel is the real McCoy as the original oil painting hanging in the lobby attests: the last stage coach to depart from in front of the hotel. The hotel is tastefully renovated, the antique furniture in the guestrooms is real. Down comforters, a plethora of pillows, huge fluffy towels, terry robes, comfortable beds. Plus thermostatically controlled central air conditioning,... More

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary, so rode our motorcycle up along the Golden Chain, and decided to stop for the night in Jackson. We knew we had our choice of either a chain hotel, or something different. I'm SO glad we went for the something different!! Starting with the staff (especially Noah), everyone was helpful and... There's a lot of history in this property and their new remodel has maintained an historic feel. Our room was not overly spacious. Everything was fresh, clean and well maintained. Some street noise (mostly motorcycles) in the early evening but quiet at night. Too pricey for what it is.

The company I work for had our Christmas party at The National. Wow! They've done a wonderful job of renovating this hotel. Their restaurant was amazing too! Do yourself a favor and visit Jackson and stay at The National!

We stayed at The National Hotel on the second night of my birthday wine-tasting weekend. It was recommended by a co-worker of mine. The building is attractive, right at the end of the historic main street of town. As soon as you walk into the lobby, you can see the attention to detail in the recent remodel. The dark wood... More

My wife and I were attending a party at one of the local ranches for a charity event. We attended the party and got to the hotel around 10PM. We were really tired. We got to our quiet room, closed the blinds and didn't wake up for 10 hours. The bed was soo comfortable! The AC wasn't crazy loud. The... More
