The staff is hostile, condescending, unhelpful, and arrogant. Our room was very minimal, the screen on the window was loose and bugs could get in, and the door lock was only the thumb latch and no other lock or chain. I jammed a chair into the door handle to prevent the door from being opened from the outside. I killed... more

We had a mixed experience at this hotel. We stayed in one of the rooms that has a kitchenette. There were many nice things about the room, such as its spaciousness and the gas stove that was lovely and heated the bedroom. The bathroom had a new synthetic shower stall, but the sink was right out of the 1960s, functional... more

I had stayed at the Golden Hinde Inn a few times and found it a reasonably priced place for the location (a little dirty and in need of remodeling, but affordable). But last April of 2007, I booked a night online and paid for it via my credit card, but the reservation was cancelled. I complained to the manager, Susan,... more

We try to please everyone, but cannot give credits and also have your credit card company reverse charges - that's a double credit to you.

We stayed in room 15 of the Golden Hinde. It was exactly what we expected from reading prior reviews. The hotel is older but clean. The room had been recently painted. It looks like they are slowly trying to fix up the place. It could use a new sitting table - it was older and had major scratches. It also... more

My girlfriend and I like to get away and do crafts (sewing and knitting), so we wanted a big space we could spread out in. We stayed in suite number 6, which has a bedroom and sitting room. Upsides: The motel's small beach and marina is right outside the sitting room. The sitting room really was spacious. The motel staff... more

The setting for this hotel is lovely - right on the water's edge. We paid $90 plus tax for a room with TV, hairdryer coffe maker etc. We had to do a short drive to get breakfast & the rooms are showing their age. But the place was clean enough & the price good for this neck of the woods.... more

Great location. We were in one of the smaller rooms. Room was fairly clean but had very old furniture and was generally run down. Door locks were iffy. Hotel staff nice and helpful. Large clean shower. more

We stayed here for sentimental reasons. It's got a charming location. And it feels much better than a camping cabin. It seemed generally clean which is my most important factor. But the locks on the door were iffy. The windows tended to let all conversations in and out. Everything was very well-worn. After I woke up with a horrible backache... more

Great location, very handy for the wonderful Point Reyes National Seashore Area. Hotel was rather outdated and quite expensive, but there does not seem to be any reasonably priced accommodation in this area. Breakfast was rather amusing - see photo. Only available on request after 9.00 am more

I have stayed here twice. While the accomodations are not glamorous, I was able to get a last-minute booking for one night only. The room featured a sweet fireplace and fully-stocked kitchen. This place is perfect for the budget-conscious traveller who wants to be near all the beauty of Tomales Bay and Point Reyes. Hike all day and enjoy dinner... more
