We arrived into LAX at 1am and had a tour booked for 7am so we needed somewhere to lay our heads after 20 hours of travelling. Got this hotel from the free phones in arrivals linked to local hotels...We only chose this as it would cost us $40 and a free pickup.. Whilst I cannot fault the guy on receptions... more

Reception staff were very rude. YOU WERE AN INCONVENIENCE. I checked in very tired and asked for a quiet room, I was told that there was only one room available and the girl put me in the noisiest room imaginable. She did change me over when I went back to complain but this was not a good start. I didn't... more

We stayed in a queen bed room, for the price the hotel room was clean, large and the free muffins in the morning were great. The shuttle service is extremely handy except the bus driver is very rude and drives in a very unsafe manner. Its a hotel for the young, I would not even think about bringing kids to... more

So, while travelling around California we decided why not take a trip to Hollywood for a day?! We viewed this hostel on hostelworld.com; ratings looked ok, reviews looked good, and for the price -$25 per person in a four bed dorm, and seeing as all we needed was a bed for the night while we were touring around Hollywood, it... more

It is very nice place to go for a cheap vacation and the need for having a great time. They have the swimming pool, THE FREE OWN VERSION OF THE BRITISH TEA WITH CHAMPAIN! and a lot of fun stuff to do around. They even can pick you up for free in the airport! more

I stayed here for a night on my way to Thailand. I was put in a great room with one other person who was gone early in the morning. I had some drinks in the Piano Bar with some great people. The bartenders are great. I don't think you can find a better deal. I enjoyed it so much I... more

I don't know who's writing all of the negative reviews, but they aren't being helpful. This place is awesome. I almost didn't stay here because of so many negative reviews, but now I am so glad that I did! The place is very clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the shuttle service is fantastic. The only thing... more

Just ask the wonderful staff for what you need. Sure the place is not perfect, but I've stayed in "5 Stars" where the room wasn't cleaned well or there was a problem with the physical plant, or the staff was not friendly. A portion of the staff at the Tradewinds are hostel guests that work seasonally, and some are internationals,... more

Go there if you have a car, so you can get out of there ASAP in the morning. In an unsafe neighborhood if you are white. Mexicans and Blacks are safer (The lobby guy told us that) The worst: no talking and fun after 22:00hrs. Its sad because the place where everybody can have fun is great but after 22hrs,... more
