Returned for a short visit to attend Idyllwild Film Festival. Fern Valley Inn owners have been very busy. We got to experience the newly remodeled room #7. Outstanding improvement! Modern fixtures, updated decor and colors, new linens and window treatment, very nice. Gary says the pool will reopen in the spring and remodeling will continue as time allows. We can't... More

Simple, comfortable, clean. It would be good to have telephones in the cabins and to be able to double lock the rooms. Manager was really nice. More

We received a cordial welcome from the co-owner, Ray. We stayed overnight in Cabin 6. The accomodation was simple, yet comfortable. A full kitchen and a private deck. Near to town and the excellent restaurant, Creek House. We would return. More

Our cabin was a free-standing house with full kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. I loved the antique touches. Built probably in the 1940s, it has that solid feel of a real home, with built-in niches, that were thoughtfully stocked with books and playing cards. The back porch had a table and chairs. To enjoy nature, all you had to do was... More

The decor of the cabins at the Fern Valley Inn is Victorian-kitch. I think there is charm in that theme, but I feel the rooms are a little overdone. The doilies should go. And some of the wall art should be updated. Money should be spent on installing phones in the rooms and making sure the window blinds work. For... More

My wife and I spent one night at Fern Valley Inn on 7/9/2011. Our experience was very pleasant. We stayed in cabin #5 which has a full kitchen and a saparate bed room. The entire layout was very cozy and apacious for two persons. We spent more time to look every room (there are 10 of them) before we checked... More

What a beautiful place. The setting is serene. The rooms are clean and cozy with a fireplace. Our room had a kitchen with all the amenities. The Inn Keeper, Gary, kept us well imformed about all the happenings in town and the many great resturants available. The Fern Valley Inn really compliments the town of Idyllwild and I already have... More

Our first day, brought bad weather so the drive up the mountain was not scenic. As Floridians the nail biting drive provided a sparse amount of guard rails, twisty curves and little fog/rain. When we arrived at the Fern Valley Inn, we found it to be quite charming. One of the new owners, Gary was more than happy to start... More

We were completely charmed by Idyllwild and especially the Fern Valley Inn. The village is a quintessential California mountain town, but not as touristy. The inn is away from the village center enough to be extremely quiet. And pitch black at night! The stars were amazing. We stayed in the Rose Garden room and loved making a fire at night.... More

Mim was friendly and let us choose from a huge variety of videos. She also warned us that our windshield wipers would stick if they weren't lifted up while it was snowing. We were able to take our son and our dog, and they both loved it. We stayed in Casa Romantica, which was near the pool. It would probably... More
