Idyllwild is a beautiful little tourist town that doesn't exactly cater to tourists all that much. Everything, including motels, closes when the sun goes down. This is true any time of year. :-) But if you're there to climb the peaks, visit the Arts Academy (as we were) or get away from your high-power job in LA, you probably don't... more

Before booking a room at the Tahquitz Inn I read reviews on this site. I was surprised by the general exterior appearance when we drove up. It was not as well cared for as expected. We were told the spa was "under repair," but hadn't been informed of that when making our reservations. Our accomodations had a small living area,... more

We are always disappointed to learn of a problem with one of our suites, and work immediately to correct any problems. In this case, the guest requested, and promptly received, a full refund. As this guest provided no details as to what they thought was "dirty" I cannot further elaborate on any corrective action that could have been taken. We...

My boyfriend and I stayed here and have no complaints. We liked the kitchen with pots, dishes, even dishwashing soap. It came in handy and brought food along to cook. Eating in town can be kinda expensive. But you can easily walk to the main street with shops, restaurants, etc. (they have a small candy shop with old fashioned hand... more

The people - the two Barbs and Bob - are extremely friendly and helpful. The "room" is almost an apartment: living room with cozy fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, and comfy bedroom. You could easily move into one of the units and stay there for months in perfect comfort. The location is breathtakingly beautiful, and the village center is close at hand.... more

The Tahquitz Inn is just off Hwy 243, just around the corner from the village center and the Forestry station. Idyllwild is a small town/medium village. It survives mainly due to tourism. If you come to this lovely place expecting the Ritz/Carlton, you are wrong. Regarding quality of rooms...the Inn is about in the medium range. I rate it excellent... more

We read previous reviews and booked the Tahquitz Inn, which was rated highest for Idyllwild. The good news: the location is good- right on the outskirts of town. The two bedroom unit is large enough for a family of four. The base rate for the two bedroom is $120 and then a $10 surcharge for each person over 2 (you... more

The Tahquitz Inn bases it's rates on two persons and charges for each additional person over double occupancy, a policy clearly posted in all of our promotional material and on our website, because we feel it would be unfair to charge guests a rate to reflect the costs of additional persons in a suite if only two guests are staying...

The Truth is it was less than rustic at best. Manager even tried to charge us double. No housekeeping. Carpet was old and very dirty. more

We stayed here after reading lots of reviews, and found it as delightful as everyone said. It has a great location, friendly staff, and well-equipped facilities. We especially liked the separate bedroom from the living room so I could watch TV without bothering my wife while she napped. We will stay here again. more

We spent four nights in Idyllwild at the Tahquitz again this year for Thanksgiving. Our two bedroom unit had plenty of room for my wife, two kids, dog, and myself. We cooked our turkey in the kitchen, and ate in front of the fireplace. The rooms were clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed, although we had to ask... more

We were lucky enough to get a room at the Taquitz because somebody had canceled for the Jazz Festival. We had a great room, with a bedroom and a kitchen and a bunch of other stuff for just $85/nite. The spa was the greatest at nite under the stars, and we had great time at the BBQs at night with... more
