The Indian tribe which bought the hotel has kept it closed for many months now. Then they left the heat off this winter and pipes on the third floor burst, sending water through all three floors. There's no knowing when or if this once-great inn will ever open again.

We stayed here for the first night of a weeks trip to Mendocino and the coast. We wanted to try tasting at some of the Hopland wineries so thought this would make a nice place to start. It was a little shaky to start- there was a very noisy (and smoky) barbeque rolling on the back patio when we arrived... More

Overall the Hopland Inn was a nice place to stay but definitely not worth the amount that we paid to stay there. My boyfriend had stayed there before and spoke highly of the Inn but it has gone downhill since then. The hotel has someone working the front desk from 10am to 7pm so you have to be there before... The Hopland Inn (the former Thatcher Inn) of Hopland is a commanding Victorian hotel right on the main drag of this small town. My husband and I have over the years loved to stop in there for cocktails at the beautiful first floor bar and adjoining library. We were in there a week ago and boy, has this place gone... More

I stayed at this lovely turn of the century hotel for 4 days and throughly enjoyed it. The rooms are very clean & comfortable with a wonderful bed, I slept like a baby. The Innkeeper, Amie is a "one-women dynomo" that was an absolute joy to meet. Should your travel plans include Hopland, I highly recommend this one of kindly... More

We were passing through Hopland and noticed the Hopland Inn. Seeing that it was the only inn/hotel in town and was so charming, we believed it was probably out of our price range. The place seemed to be closed, but we called the hotel number and the person tending the place was cleaning and came down and let us in.... More

This is an old-fashioned place in an extremely quiet town, except for the traffic heading to and from SF. The inn is like a converted victorian mansion with various types of room converted into bedrooms. The building needs some work done to it, especially the roof. The building was also locked up much of the time - not very welcoming... More

If you like staying at a funky, authentic turn of the century inn with the same dim lighting as 1900s and single pane windows,& no a/c this is the place for you. I can sleep with noise, but even I had to get up and close the windows after a few hours. The noise from Hwy 101 was very loud.... More

We just got back from a trip to Mendocino county where we stayed two nights at the Hopland Inn. Lori treated us like family and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was great! We hung out in the beautiful library in the evening and played games etc. There is a small casino a few minutes... More
