We have stayed here many times over the years, mainly because the whole Casa de Fruta experinece is so fun and quirky. It's kind of like the "South of the Border" for Californians. (If you're from the Carolinas, you'll understand the reference.) There are not many of these roadside destinations in existence any more. We hadn't stayed here in a... More

A Destination Location or Rest stop between the Yosemite Mountains and Central California Coast! We are blessed to live on the central California coast with an ocean view, but sometimes crave a walk in the woods amongst the giant redwood and pine trees. This is a fabulous place to stop on our road trip, for a nice meal and snacks.They... More

We researched this place for a couple of months before we visited and I even asked in a Forum people's opinions on the place and we were pleasantly surprised after feeling a bit doubtful about our choice. We were tossing up whether to stay in Santa Clara/San Jose or here and one Advisor pretty much said "why fly 12 hours... More

Our room was clean, tastefully furnished and looked like it had been updated fairly recently. The bed was very comfortable. Shower facilities were great and very clean. Overall a very nice experience, especially looking out on all the flowers and birds at the back of the complex. The restaurant in the complex had good food and great service with friendly... More

Good gift and souvenir shopping. Decent wine, has a motel, campground, playground and train ride for kids, tons of old rusted farm equipment, fruit stand. Prices are high but they have a lot of interesting things. the wine shop has really cool stuff too. There is a restaurant-we did not try.

If you're traveling and you come across Casa de Fruta you should definitely stop and enjoy the shopping, food, activities, and scenery. You could easily spend thirty minutes here. Lots of good buys, foods, etc. to take with you while traveling. I always visit when I drive along 152.

On my annual spring migration passing through this area from the 101 east bound on the 152 headed for the I-5 I came along this truck stop that appeared to be much more so after driving by it a doubled back and glad i did , after the slight increase of much winter rains the Earth and early grasses responded... Just recently stopped at Casa de Fruta on our way home from Disneyland. Large selection of fruits, vegetables, and very nice gift shop. Give yourself at lease an hour to browse. This used to be right along side the main highway until bypassed years ago. Very easy off and on to highway. Watch for signs. High quality

We are from Arizona but have traveled to the bay area every years for the last 25 years. Our boys were babies when we first started stopping there and they loved it then and now. We have ridden the train, ate in the restaurant and bought fruit, nuts, wine etc. at the market. They have a great breakfast there and... More

Great stop off the 152 between I-5 and the 101. This has been a traditional stop for our family for many decades.it is a good place to get out and stretch the legs. If you have kids this is a must do with the lake, animals, trains and seasonal fun. For the adults, there is the fruit stand, restaurant, picnic... More
