Our family of four finally managed to book this piece of paradise - for our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed at all! The weather was perfect - this time of year the kids could still swim in the ocean without the threat of jellyfish. My husband could moor our 5.4m fishing boat out 30m from our doorstep - enabling... Terrible. items went mysteriously missing from the room and housekeeping refused to respond to me when we realised. Still waiting for items to be found and returned. I will never stay here again or recommend to my friends and family.

We stay here once a year in August and always have unit number 8 on the eastern side of the resort. Throughout the year the area in front of our unit has been renovated with lovely green lush grass, fencing, brick pavers, gardens and really beaut Bali type pergola out the front which houses a BBQ, cooking area, power points,... We have been very lucky and have just spend 2 night here this weekend and we were here for 2 nights about 2 weeks ago. We live 6 months in Melbourne and 6 in Airlie. We come out here a lot for Sunday lunch and yes lunch is only from 12-2. 9 times out of 10 we are still sitting... More

So we booked 6 months ahead, we expected something far different. However, waking up to that view and dining in the restaurant made it all worthwhile. The room was untidy and moldy but the staff were friendly and everything else was wonderful. The meals were excellent, except the seafood platter which was overcooked, and the boat ramp was in disrepair.... More

we were staying at airlie beach and someone recommended driving here for lunch (be warned lunch finishes at 2pm - not sure if this is everyday - worth ringing and checking. Also you need to book on a weekend - it gets booked out). The location really is spectacular - right on the water. the views are lovely. I was... More

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at Montes this week, we really wish it was longer! Kath, Chris, Gus, Sarah, Ben, Joey, Hannah, Sophie & Pauly - Thank you all so much for some great memories! After reading the previous reviews, the cabins are now all modified and done up, beautifully presented, fully furnished, 4 steps to the sand,... More

This place has special memories for me and my family after holidaying here for over 25 years. We have just returned from 10 days spent in unit 2 and 3 enjoying the spacious units steps from the beach. The units being air conditioned, and the beds were particularly comfortable. Katherine and Chris the managers are always so welcoming and happy... More

I reviewed Montes some time ago but recently revisited Montes twice with interstate visitors, each time for a relaxed lunch. On each occasion, the journey to this remote spot was well worthwhile – it is such a stunning spot, with the restaurant adjacent to the white sandy beach and turquoise Whitsunday waters. On one occasion I chose a delightful Coral... More

My husband and I found Montes while we were waiting for Cyclone Ului to blow in, back in March 2010. To kill some time we went for a drive up the coast from Airlie Beach and just stumbled across this little paradise on the beach, called Montes Reef Resort. We sat in the bar for a few drinks before heading... More
