A total immersion experience! No electricity, rain-cistern showers, rainforest washwater piped down from the river, incredible meals cooked up three times a day and served in a low-key, totally relaxing main lodge. Eating by the light of the hurricane lamps, talking and laughing with the hosts, having your stuff carried in and out strapped to a horse as you navigate... More

Right from the moment I mounted the horse that carried me and my luggage to the door of our cabin, I knew I was in for a treat. Our quarters were rustic, yet funky and comfy. The 'living area' featured hammocks and a completely unobstructed experience of lazily swaying in the jungle. Eric and Lyn are my friends. It was... More

I can only echo the praise of all those who have reviewed Rambala. Eric and Lynn are enthusiastic and knowledgable hosts, excellent cook and Eric is a very well informed guide. Off the grid rustic (but yes wi-fi) relaxation in an absolutely gorgeous pristine jungle setting. Amazing bird watching, along with sloths, unusual bees and a variety of other wildlife.

If you want to experience a rainforest jungle in the wild, this is the place to be! You will see birds and animals that amaze you in a setting that is just beautiful. Experience hiking in an untouched jungle among wild plants, vines, and towering trees. It's wild and primitive but at the same time, the hosts do everything they... More

Rambala Jungle Lodge is a unique and special experience. Plan to be nestled on a valley within a hill, surrounded by jungle and looking out to the ocean. You will be several miles from the main road, without electricity (which has its challenges, but also charms), and semi-immersed in a large property that is almost entirely untouched jungle. The sleeping... More

We had a wonderful time, hiking the Rambala Jungle trail, swimming in the river, going behind the waterfall. We also saw many different kinds of animals, birds and bugs! Great fireflies and a wonderful little fellow called a Cucujo (I don't think that's how you spell it but oh well). Lyn & Eric are great hosts and the food was... More

Since my stay at the Rambala Jungle Lodge in 2011, they have added or finished new facilities, added more trails and more amenities. Therefore I am adding this 5 star review for several reasons. Since I gave the lodge a 3 star overall review the first time, I thought it deserved better with the new services. While it is an... More

We have been many times and each trip has been more rewarding. Remote, quiet and amazing! It gets just war enough in the afternoon to swim in the river and then cools off for an incredible sleep. Food and games in the evening are always fantastic. A place to get away from it all!!!! The birds and wildlife continue to... More
