We have been many times and each trip has been more rewarding. Remote, quiet and amazing! It gets just war enough in the afternoon to swim in the river and then cools off for an incredible sleep. Food and games in the evening are always fantastic. A place to get away from it all!!!! The birds and wildlife continue to... More

I recently visited rambala jungle lodge on a class field trip and it was an amazing experience. The owners were very friendly and more than willing to accommodate my classes crazy schedule. The trees were filled with wildlife that the staff loved to point out to us. There were some amazing trails to hike on and a gorgeous river filled... More

Rambala is for people who REALLY want to get away from it all. You have to walk the last .5 km or so along a beautiful path and you don't have flushing toilets, but you DO have only nature sounds, lots of interesting bugs, birds and animals you won't see elsewhere and the good energy of owners, Eric and Lyn.... The vista of the Caribbean with a foreground of sloth- and toucan-laden cecropia trees and sounds of rushing brook recall my first trip on foot though this territory 35 years ago. Rambala Lodge has managed to preserve the sense of lush wildness, while making it comfortable. The jungle trails have been laid out and constructed by Sr. Javier, a skillful... More

My wife and I just returned from a 2 night stay at the Rambala Lodge located about 5 km outside the small village of Rambala, in the province of Bocas del Toro. We were interested in checking out this lodge as a way of doing some birding on the lower Carribean slope of western Panama. And we were not disappointed.... More

I am a biologist living in Panama and stayed at Rambala Jungle Lodge while doing some work in the area. Lyn and Eric were the most amazingly accommodating hosts, doing everything imaginable to make my stay pleasant (and my research successful). The grounds are lovely and swimming in the natural stream pools was a daily pleasure. The cabin I stayed... More

Travelled up to my friends eco resort in the Panama Jungle. A wonderful get away spot. Chance to experience the jungle, wildlife (sloths, humming birds, famous Panama frogs, bats, hawks, maybe even a small jaguar), do some walking, swim in the waterfall pool which is really refreshing and just relax. Eco toilets and spirit lamps. Micro-hydro going in soon. Guest... More

...of a REAL jungle experience? Well, this is it. The property is amazing, the accommodations rudimentary but surprisingly comfortable. The hosts (Lyn and Eric) provide a real tropical wilderness experience...everything from river tubing, hiking and the BEST thing of all is swimming in the little pools beneath the small waterfalls. I felt like I was in a movie! The view... More

I was there for a few days in 2011. Lyn and Eric were great hosts. It is a really nice place for a nature getaway. Just doing without electric changes how we operate and feel. If connects you to your surroundings so much quicker. If nothing else, it allows you to hear the subtle and glorious sounds of nature. Sitting... More

What a relaxing escape from the buzz of civilization! Rambala Jungle Lodge is really so much less but so much more all at the same time. After a short hike onto the property you are met with the babbling of the river, the singing of the birds and the gentle breezes through the jungle canopy. You can spend your time... More
