A little over the top with the Palace of Versailles theme, but the rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable. Though, our room had an unpleasant odor of some type of cleaning chemical. Close to the 405, PCH and LAX, you'll find this hotel frequented by business travelers, airline pilots and cabin crew. Breakfast needs to start earlier. 6.30 is not... more

This hotel has everything a business traveler would want in a hotel for price. Free wifi, free breakfast, free 24 hour onsite gym, outdoor heated pool, friendly staff, spacious rooms, in room fridge and microwave, and a decor that is a nice break from the usual corporate hotels. Free parking too. The details - The breakfast is fruit, muffins, bacon,... more

The Ayres is a nice change from the predictable Mariott and Hyatt. I have traveled extensivley through Europe and found their to be similiarities between the Ayres and hotels I have stayed in, in Europe...The breakfast was ample, and the front desk staff was very helpful. The rooms were nice enough. Be aware however...if you take a cab (that the... more

The Hawthorne Ayers Hotel has become my VERY favorite hotel to stay in when visiting Southern California. It remains me of some great European Hotels that I have used in the past. Just like being in Italy and France. The rooms are great, the decor fantastic, the service excellent, the food great, and with ambiance that can't be beat. The... more

This hotel is actually a glorified motor lodge. Although it has some nice details like a marble fireplace in the lobby, a nice patio and deck area, baroque tapestries throughout and large rooms, other details like molded plastic tub/shower combination, what they call "privacy partitions" in the Queen rooms, mini bar fridges without any actual minibar items, those awful hotel... more

Hotel was beautiful. Customer service was very unpleasable the time we walk in the door. Did not receive an welcome greeting and we stood at the service desk for almost 15 minutes before the staff acknowledge us. The staff made us feel as if we all were a bothersome for her to stop what she was doing to check us... more

At first it seemed like a beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. I stayed for 4 nights and each day was a new problem. Either the hotel keys didn't work each night, or the wake up call service would call at the wrong times. Thank god I had my cell phone alarm... more

What an interesting hotel! To warn you, it is not on the beach. It is close to several strip malls near the I-405. Drive down the road a couple of miles, though and you will get there. Manhattan Beach is a large city and the name can fool you. In any case, this place looks like a Comfort Inn with... more

I stayed here for five days as part of a large group. I was somewhat skeptical since it wasn't part of my usual chains, but came away pleasantly surprised. Service was wonderful throughout: front desk, shuttle service, restaurant, meeting rooms. luncheon. The restaurant had excellent food and atmosphere, though it was a bit pricy (about normal for an up-scale place).... more

With my wife and my two young daughters we spent 7 nights there and we enjoyed very much the stay. As soon as you enter the lobby you can see the details making this hotel different from the others in the same category (during our stay people selected this hotel to shoot their wedding). Everybody is making hard to please... more
