The location of this older motel was perfect for our stay in Half Moon Bay. It is reminiscent of a motel from the 70s but the rooms have been remodeled. Expect basic rooms with small dorm size refrigerators, outdoor hallways, local people and excellent service. This is just the right kind of place to stay on a trip up the... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks while traveling on business. I stayed in one of the remodeled rooms, and found it on par with places like Aloft or The Element. The remodeled rooms have a familiar boutique feel. The exterior of the hotel is cute and clean. At the end of the day, this is still pretty much a motel,... More

Nice place to stay after touring San Francisco. Cheaper than down downtown San Francisco and with free parking. Each room had a good view of the harbor but fog did not lift the following morning. Recommended for a romantic stay. No frig or microwave in the room. The breakfast had sausage egg cheese sandwiches, milk, coffee and assorted pastries. The... More

A fine little place for the money. Courteous staff. Clean room and comfortable beds. We enjoyed our window seat and the nice view of Pillar Point Harbor. Easy walk to the pier and a delightfully quirky Cafe Classique for a robust home made breakfast.

Halfmoon bay is expensive, but this place was way over rated even for the rate. The rooms are old, the bathrooms clean but dingy. The walls are extremely thin. I wouldn't stay here again and we were very jealous we couldn't afford to move hotels like two of our friends did.

My wife and I try very hard to get out of the Central Valley to Half Moon Bay at least once a year. Unfortunately, the places to stay in that area are not inexpensive. The Harbor View Inn was a very good bargain. We stayed two nights at the Harbor View Inn, and we were both extremely pleased. We'd read... More

We had a medical emergency while traveling in California. Spent a whole day in the ER and missed the window of cancellation. The ER doc told us to return to KY immediately to get continued medical treatment and Harbor View claims they can not refund our money because we missed the cancellation window. Bad Business-then when called to discuss with... More

We enjoyed this hotel and sprang for an upgraded room. The room was very nice and the hotel was in a good location. The people were friendly too. Only downside is that there isn't really much of a view of the harbor and it is a touch noisy if you are a really light sleeper. With that said, we were... More

Myself and my partner stayed here one night in August 2013 to break up the long drive to Santa Barbara. It is a basic decent hotel in a good location with nice staff, very affordable too. If you want luxury then look elsewhere but it was perfect for our needs.

This is an old building which is kept clean and well functional. The best are three-part windows jutting out to the front with a small round table on the window with two chairs where you can sit, sip and enjoy the view of the harbor and the ocean in the distance like in expensive restaurants. (Well, you've to ignore Highway... More
