Nice old fashion Wild West style hotel. The rooms are small but that's part of the attraction. We enjoyed our stay BUT..... The first morning we woke up my girlfriend had several "bites" all over her body. We assumed it was a mosquito so no big deal. The second night there were more. A LOT MORE. We came back to... More

My husband says criteria for working here is "I don't care". If you care, you're fired! We enjoyed the staff. They were all pleasant and nice. We truly enjoyed our stay. BUT, don't expect quiet and expect non-traditional conveniences. Normal it is NOT... Priority is the Bar then restaurant then hotel. Their cash cow is: the Bar. The base on... More

I guess that if you like to drink and be part of a party crowd even when you are in your hotel room, you might like this place. We were told we were given the best room but couldn't believe that to be true as we were on the street side which was so noisy from bar patrons and also... More

I don't normally like to write negative reviews, but here goes! (my first in 5 years). I had been to the San Benito 5 years ago and had a reasonable nights stay. I new about the noise in the bar from the first visit, so asked for a room at the back this time.....it was a very quiet monday night... More

I found this place, last minute, when I changed my plans and decided to skip spending the night in Berkeley and travel on to the place where I intended to start my afternoon drive down Hwy 1. I can't recall how I found it--TripAdvisor comes up blank when you use their search function. But I stumbled upon it... and felt... More

San Benito House is located in the center of Half Moon Bay and thus in walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc. The rooms are over the bar on the first floor. It is an excellent bar, friendly and a good selection of draught beer. It is also excellent in that it is lively, loud, and full of patrons until... More

I can't express enough how much fun we had at San Benito Ale House. We stayed at the hotel upstairs for 2 nights, spent some time at the bar downstairs and also had lunch at the adjacent deli. All three experiences were so great. Such a fun little getaway for us. We read some reviews on Yelp before we visited,... More

An old Historic Hotel in downtown. Has charm, history and the staff was delightful. Our room was small, but the bed quite comfortable and I loved the pillows. I only wish I could have brought them home with me. We had no trouble with the noise, but we were there on a midweek night. We choose to share a bath... More

We thought maybe a Sunday night, and upgrade to the finest room. The room is above the bar??? It seems their solution to the noise they know you will experience is to supply you with ear plugs. They don't make ear plugs that are good enough to drown out the noise. Nice enough room but no way you will sleep.... More

Ear plugs are included in your welcome basket. That should tell you something. The bed was like a lumpy marshmallow. The noise was relentless. Half Moon Bay is nice and this building is historic, but find another place to stay.
