We highly recommend staying at Fern Grove Cottages in Guerneville, CA. We only stayed one night but would wish we could have stayed longer. The first thing you notice would be the setting of the cottages in the beautiful trees. This is located not far from Armstrong State Park and Korbel Winery, both well worth touring. The cottages themselves are... More

Traveled in Oct. 2009 (couldn't select that above) and really enjoyed our stay in our own personal cabin. We stayed in one of the detached cabins, with a wrap around porch and surrounded by trees, meaning it was fairly quiet. (Ask for this; you'll be happier.) When you pull up, you see a big retro, neon sign saying "fern grove"... More

These cottages are very well-kept and quite nice. Margaret (owner) and her husband obviously take a lot of pride in their establishment and it shows. Our cottage was clean, quiet, and very cozy with a very good bed (very important). It rained during our stay and we enjoyed just being in our warm room reading and listening to raindrops fall.... My wife and I had a great stay at this cute inn. We were most impressed with the friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff and enjoyed the interesting flower and vegetable garden. We had one of the smaller cottage studios which was more than enough for the two of us. The breakfast was quite nice and the famous homemade scones... More

Stayed here three nights in July after some time in San Francisco. Lovely cottage, kind of quirky, retro furnishings. It was very comfortable and clean. Nice breakfast provided in main house and you get a chance to meet other guests if you'd like. Margaret, the owner, has tons of information about wine, wineries, vineyards, tours, tastings, etc. Very helpful in... More

Two couples stayed in a two bedroom unit for two nights. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and well priced. Continental breakfast in the main building was more than delicious and ample, and served with a flair. Plus, the owner, Margaret (?), from England originally, gave us expert advice as to what wineries to visit on our way to Healdsburg... More

Stayed two nights at the end of May as part of a wine tasting week. The cottages were small, but cozy. The bathroom was dismal, the horrible overhead light gave a greenish glow which didn't enhance the mold at the bottom of the shower or the rotting wood. Beds were queen size and comfortable. Furniture in the main room was... More

Spent five nights at this NoCal group of cottages in a small redwood grove, in the little town of Guerneville. Location was selected for proximity to Russian River vineyards and other Napa-Sonoma wineries and attractions. Rustic but comfortable cottages, many with kitchenettes and shared living rooms. Good breakfast with home-made granola and terrific scones. Innkeeper Margaret is an excellent source... More

We were a group of 4 women biking thru wine country and this was one of our stops. After 20 miles on a bike it was nice to feel at home with the owners and their quaint property, The cottages were clean and well kept and the place was very relaxing and quiet. There is a Safeway just down the... More
