I have stayed at the Applewood Inn several times over the years on my trips to Sonoma from New York where I live. You are at home the moment you step in and are welcomed by the friendly staff members. Each room has its own character and comforts: patio on some, terrace on others. The walls are thick and you... My husband and I traveled to Sonoma and stayed at the Applewood Inn for the holidays. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed both nights we were there, but breakfast was very good. The room was lovely and we had our own hot tub on the deck. We also had a fireplace. What could be better than that.

We had a suite with a jacuzzi, the latter was located on a tiny private backyard, under open sky. Nice! The hotel is located on highway 116, overlooking the woods of Russian River valley. The town of Guerneville is at 15 min walk, on the other side of the river. Good hotel, very decent room, polite and friendly staff. Unfortunately,... More

Quite a nice place to stay and dine. The property is a bit old, but well maintained. If you want to avoid stairs be sure to ask about room access when you reserve and check in. There aren't any elevators and some rooms have steep stair access. The only real negative is the surrounding area isn't as attractive as other... More

Stayed for two nights in November. Very charming Inn and friendly staff. The rooms are all different. We stayed in the main inn part. Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The amenities were very nice. This is not a modern style place so if that's what your looking for you will be disappointed. We had a very... More

My husband and I stayed here for a night away from the kids. It was absolute heaven. We had a hottub on our balcony a beautiful room with a big, cushy tempurpedic bed. We were greeted with a glass of wine. Our stay included dinner and breakfast, both were excellent. I highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed our stay at the Applewood Inn. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of wine..The room was spacious, the bed and other furnishings comfortable, and the service was outstanding. Attention to aesthetics, such as the plant-filled patios and well-designed rooms, enhanced the pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast, which was included, was excellent. We also dined in the restaurant one... More

We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Applewood Inn based on the reviews but left feeling underwhelmed. I felt like we were visiting a place that at one time was probably a great experience for guests but was past its prime. SPA: We booked a spa treatment, which we always do when we travel so have... Our three night stay at the Applewood Inn was nothing short of fabulous! Our king suite was super comfortable with a large jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The novel idea of a "pillow menu" made sleeping a pleasure (try it). The service we received from start to finish was impeccable. We were upgraded to a king suite due to construction going... More

We had two nights at the Inn and would stay longer next time. To us the location is ideal as we enjoy the wineries along the Russian River. We were given great suggestions for wineries based on what we have enjoyed in the past. Breakfast was wonderful. We'll be back!
