My partner and I loved this place! We would highly recommend it to anyone going to Sonoma County. The location is excellent and the space was enchanting. Felt like we were walking around in Italy. The food is excellent! We only got to try the breakfast which is complimentary because we went on a monday night and the restaurant is... More

The place is nice, but the rooms aren't very clean & need renovation. We were very disappointed that the rooms didn't have a small refrigerator. We like cold bottled water & the only ice maker is all the way out by the pool! Also the restaurant is very inflexible.

Dear Lesle, I am disappointed that we were not able to please you during your stay at Applewood. It is very unusual for us to hear any complains about cleanliness in the rooms. I would have preferred to hear about this problem while your were with us so that we could taken immediate action to remedy whatever you found wrong.... More

It was a springlike day...the air was clear and crisp...and we arrived at the Applewood Inn. Valerie was warm. chatty and sat with us while we had our welcoming champagne. We learned that she was an author...the owner came by to welcome us...and we were off to explore the gardens...enjoy the hot tub and prepare for dinner. While in the... More

I'm in love with the Applewood Inn! My husband and I spent 2 nights in Room 19--Michaelangelo-- and we couldn't have been happier. Our weekend came courtesy of a Travelzoo voucher that paid for itself three-fold! We were given an excellent rundown on the site and surrounding environs upon check-in, then --be still my heart-- we were handed two glasses... More

We stayed here on a Groupon special, so we can't complain too much about the cost. Our room was in the main house and was nice, though it backed up to the main road. The bed was a bit soft for me, but they had down pillows, which is a must for us. The place is a bit run down,... More

Loved our "Beautiful Room" in the main house, which was cozy and "Beautiful" once we got inside it. We found nothing cozy or welcoming about the main reception or sitting areas of the Inn, especially being there on a cold, rainy day, mid-week. There was no fire in the fireplace; no welcoming reception; no welcoming beverages as others describe. In... More

Room was dark and in need of upgrade; only one person to take care of breakfast; clearly couldn't handle all people properly; served NOT fresh juices and no one coming around to refresh coffees! Not what one expects from a quality inn. Would not recommend it.

My friend had booked a package deal through a site for our group of 3 couples for a early Valentine's Day celebration. The package was for one night's accommodations including a Prix Fixe dinner, breakfast and a spa credit. I didn't have time to look at the website and went along for the one day stay with low expectations. Hadn't... More

60 minutes by car from The City (San Francisco), in a gentlly sloped Redwood Valley where the Russian River meanders, is the Applewood Inn. An old mansion lovingly converted to a Mediterranean styled B&B. Our room was a sunflower yellow: cozy and quaint, but with great (free) WiFi; flat screen TV; and, an incredibly comfortable memory foam bed. Redwoods immediately... More

We loved everything about this place! A beautiful property that served a wonderful breakfast. The staff was courteous and professional. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Our first night we had chef's tasting menu with wine pairing. We loved it so much we went back our second night and ordered from the menu. We were equally pleased. We can't wait... More
