Pretty much what I expect from a motel (or is it an inn?) in a small town. The bathroom fixtures have seen better days, but perfectly acceptable and clean. Rooms are small, but had all the space I need. All rooms face the parking lot, so you hear everyone's cars and conversations as they pass by so it was noisy... More

We recently stayed here for two nights. Compared to newer motels, their standard rooms are small. You can get along just fine but it’s cramped. The rooms have a little table where you can work with a computer or have a glass of wine and nice queen beds. If you juggle things around, the bathrooms are big enough to get... More

The sign at the street says Surf Inn quite boldly. A smaller sign on the property shows "Surf Motel." Or is it the other way around. This cozy little motel has a beautiful view of the Pacific from their patio area. The staff did a superb job of accomodating. Nice breakfast with sausages. Most surprisingly, the waffles are excellent. Try the... More

This little gem is tucked away in a little town called Gualala. The famous California Hwy 1 passes right through it so you can't miss it unless you blink, of course. Surf Inn/Motel is a very reasonably priced motel with an incredible view of the spectacular surf. The Northern CA coastline has some of the most dramatic views of the... More

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about staying at a "motel" my husband booked. As it turned out tho, I was pleasantly surprised. The room we got had 2 Queen beds, wooden floors, a kitchenette and bathroom. It was like staying in our own little suite. I was concerned about noise of folks walking past on... More

I've traveled a bit and this may be the worst value ever. $149 in November for a basic Motel 6 type room. But a Motel 6 beasts this place every time. No thermostat, so either you leave the blasting heat on all night or it gets cold. Paper thin walls! If I didn't have eyes, I'd say there might not... More

We stayed here for 1 night. The toilet blocked 3 times - the plunger in the bathroom came in handy. Noisy people in another room kept us awake. We could also here the people in the room next to ours snore. The room wasn't really clean, sort of an underlyt grime. There was a $20 fee if you used the... More

Michael & Heather Gonzalez made us feel welcome and were terrific hosts. Michael was so nice to us, he told us of a special beach the locals know about, and the Sea Ranch Chapel that is a truly unique place. The rooms were CLEAN, which is very important to me. Had a wonderful time, and plan to return to stay... More

The Positive: The Managers of the Hotel are very friendly and do make you feel extremely welcomed. They did a nice job with breakfast. The eggs, sausage, and gravy were tasty and hot. It was a nice way to start out the day. Our room was very clean and I loved the wood flooring instead of the carpet. I am... More

Our room was quite small but comfortable and clean, all that is needed for a one night stay. The décor was nicely updated. The location was good for us as we like to walk to dinner. If the weather had been better, I'm sure the view would have been wonderful. We did not partake in the breakfast. Breakfast was served... More
