Decent and affordable hotel for a stay along the northern coast of California. Beautiful location right on the water. Good service. Ok rooms. Nice that the rooms have kitchenettes. We checked in late and left early the next morning, continuing our drive down the coast -- so really cannot pass any further judgement since we were not even there for... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Surf motel. Our room, Room 115 was very small, perhaps the smallest room we have ever experienced staying in any motel. The positives: not overpriced, clean, comfortable queen bed, full breakfast (but read more on this), view from some rooms with extra cost. The bad: very small room with refrigerator and microwave inside a... More

This is a small motel, 20 rooms. The rooms are all comfortable, but some are small. There are feather beds on some of the beds, but not all. Some rooms have kitchens. Others have fridge and microwave. They have a nice deck with two large tables. Also have some tables and chairs and Adirondack chairs with ocean views. Pets are... More

The motel has a great location and a front staff team are great. We checked in flawlessly and loved the view. Thats all the good I can say. The rooms are dark smelly and in the 2 rooms my family stayed in the flooring was heaving. The toilet did not work well in 1 of our 2 rooms and both... More

This was our first stop on a n. Calif/s. Oregon vaca. We had booked ahead here. The first thing the gal did was upsold us for a nominal $ to a king bedroom suite overlooking the pacific. We bit and it was a nice upgrade for the little more she charged. We were one nighters here. Our room was nice,... More

When I looking for a hotel, I wanted something that was reachable after leaving San Francisco in the early afternoon. Whala, I came across this and booked it. We normally don't book hotels in advance while traveling to a different stop every night, but what a wonderful little gem. Great clean, beautiful view we had. Sorry we missed the breakfast,... More

The Surf Motel is a lovely hotel well located on the California Coast Line. Very affordable and comfortable. Many amenities are within walking distance. We would definitely consider the Surf Motel when in the area again.

We stayed here for only 1 night to hang with friend who were camping at a nearby campsite. (We stayed here because we had a small child with us and we weren't ready to brave the outdoors with him). The motel is close to the beach and offers all sorts of outside seating with spectacular views of the ocean. The... More

This motel looks like it is right on the beach but there is no beach access. You must drive down the road and walk a ways to get there. Our room smelled musty like the windows hadn't been opened in a while. The staff was super friendly, though so it's hard to give a bad rating.

The rooms are small and cozy but they are well maintained and updated. We had a great ocean view from the spacious deck and the patio. There's a walking trail adjacent to the motel which is great if you have a dog that likes to walk & sniff. Cristin, the hostess is such a delight to chat with and assist... More
