We filled the whole property for a long weekend in early December for a wedding. Some of us were in the hotel rooms upstairs, and the rest in the cabins and cottages on both sides of the creek. Every cabin and cottage is different and the setting is gorgeous -- meadow, redwood trees, gentle rolling terrain, and the very cool... More

We stayed at the Johnson House - it has a full kitchen, but be aware that there are limited cooking utensils. No problem for us, as we checked in advance, and knew that we needed to bring our own favorite skillet, noodle pot and popcorn pan. The deck has a panoramic view of the ocean. We stayed there five nights... More

St. Orres is the kind of place you go to get away from it all. There are no televisions, Internet, or cell service. (You can get Internet service in the main hotel/restaurant if you want to send a text or check your e-mail) The setting is beautiful. Many cabins and cottages have a partial ocean view and the grounds are... More

I had stayed at St Orres 24 years ago, and I had fond memories. I took my husband there last weekend and was very disappointed. We, as well as my 20 lb dog, stayed at Johnson House. We were shocked and dismayed by the condition of the house. It looked like it hadn't been touched or repaired in 25 years.... More

We've heard good things about this place and it looks lovely. But we can't get anyone to return our calls to make a reservation???? We have left a voice message on the answering machine and left a message with a live person. No return call.

My husband and I stayed in hotel room #3 with shared bath on 7/5. We were just having a random weekend outdoors and are budget travelers by nature, so didn't really care about having shared baths. I was really excited to see the property's architecture and learn a bit more about it (than what wikipedia has on file). That being... More

When my husband and I first stayed here in the early 90s, it was delightful and unique. This place used to be a destination. Now, it's just a place to stay if you want to visit the area. This time, we stayed in Osprey Cove. The main bedroom smelled like a septic tank. We needed to keep the windows open... More

We had a really really lovely time at St Orres. We rented the Wake Robin Cabin for a couple of nights to end our California holiday and I'm very glad we did for lots of reasons. The views from the cabin were lovely and the bed was large and luxurious feeling. I absolutely love how the cabins have been built.... More

We have stayed at St. Orres on several occasions over the past 10 years...bouncing between the TreeHouse and Sequoia. It has been a treat...the rooms are wonderful, the setting spectacular....and the breakfast second to none. However, this last week some of the magic was missing....the exterior looked old and weatherbeaten...the grounds were not kept up...at all... and while the room... More

We recently stayed at the Johnson house and were mightily disappointed. The house had a very musty smell, there was a bad smell in the bedroom, and we spotted a black widow on the outside ledge of the bedroom window. The little house has so much potential and could be really cute with a remodeling. The view from the deck... More
