We stayed at Buck Meadows Lodge for 2 nights at the end of September 2012. The lodge is about 35-45 minutes from the West Gate to the Yosemite National Park and perhaps the closest you can live outside the West Gate of the National Park. We paid about $99/ night + taxes.
