We thought the Hotel Charlotte was above average for the price, considering that you always pay a premium to stay near someplace popular like Yosemite. Some customers with unrealistically high expectations might consider it more toward average or basic, but we thought it was a solid value, comfortable enough, and friendly. We stayed in Groveland for one night on the... More

Our son is a national park law enforcement officer at Yosemite and Groveland was a perfect place to stay as he lives between Groveland and Yosemite. We stayed at the condo that is rented through the Hotel Charlotte only because we could not reserve a room at the Hotel for our entire time in Groveland. However, we did have breakfast... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Charlotte August 22-25th. Everything was great. Lynn and Victor were gracious hosts. Each day we started with their breakfast buffet which was fine. Served till 10 also if you're a late sleeper, which we're not. The rooms are small; now that you know that, it shouldn't be a problem. You might have... More

Last winter traveled to Yosemite but wanted to stay warm and keep the in-laws comfie: toddler and senior folks happy: needed warm and happy rooms. Lynn and Victor are great hosts who fed us delicious meals to satisfy our picky (or call it gourmet to be nice) Bay Area tastebuds, kept on eye on the wandering grandpa, played with the... More

We stayed at Hotel Charlotte for 2 nights 12/13 August and had a lovely if all too brief stay on our tour of California. Rest assured that all the positive reviews are correct. We had a twin & queen room conncted by a bathroom, both were decorated in sympathy with the age of the property & were lovely and clean.... More

Very disappointing. I booked this hotel due to the fact I was driving to San Francisco via Las Vegas with my parents whilst they were in California from London. When we arrived at the hotel we walked in the front door and waited for the receptionist to appear. For some reason the receptionist was missing from the front desk. She... More

HotelCharlotte, Owner at Hotel Charlotte, responded to this review

We wish we had heard from this visitor upon their return home instead of 14 months after their stay. As innkeepers, it is rare that we are not onsite 7 days a week, this was one of those occasions. In response, I can note that when one buys an historic hotel, there are often many things that need upgrading: orange... More

This was our 2nd time at the Hotel Charlotte. The first time we stumbled on to it leaving Yosemite and liked it so much we stayed there again on our last Yosemite visit. It's a great little place, not fancy but very comfortable, everyone was friendly and very helpful, not too far a drive from the park. The food at... More

From the moment we arrived, the owner, Lynn, was a delight to meet. The room was small and quaint with a comfortable bed, providing the best nights sleep I;ve experienced in a Hotel. I would highly recomend making reservations to dine in the Hotels Cafe. The Chicken Marsala and Chicken Argentine were delightful!

STAFF: Lovely. Knowledgeable and very helpful. ROOM: Exceptionally clean; very comfy pillow-top bed FOOD: A very nice complementary breakfast. Dinner was enjoyable. INTERNET: One computer in the sitting room; but also has high-speed wireless (a pleasant surprise considering our cellphone had no signal) LOCATION: Within 30 minutes of Yosemite's main entrance.

Our whole family (12 people ranging in age from Seniors down to 2 /12 years old ) stayed at the Hotel Charlotte. Great location near Yosemite and the hosts are marvelous. They make you feel as if you are at home, are most accomodating and give many suggestions on things to do. The restaurant is also quite good. Highly recommended.
