We stayed at the Charlotte last week, getting into town at the height of a Spring snowstorm that snarled the roads. The Charlotte, while not grand by any measure, is a nice little historic property from approximately gold rush times. The current owners have restored the property reasonably well, with cute claw foot tubs and appropriate furnishings. While the Groveland... More

We were ranked when a snowstorm prevented us from getting to Yosemite. The hotel was kind enough to let's stay in affiliated townhouse at a golf course nearby. The breakfast next morning was very good and when we heard that chains were required to get to Yosemite the hotel staff lent us chains they had - without any security deposit... More

I hope we have the opportunity to return. :) We really appreciated the warmth of hospitality & service we experienced. It was relaxing & refreshing -- couldn't have been better. We enjoyed the food, the location and the charming staff & owners. First day we took a drive around Gold Country on highway 49 including the charming Indigeny Hard Cider... More

My family of 4 recently stayed in 2 rooms at the Hotel Charlotte for a couple nights while visiting Yosemite. We loved the historical feel of the old hotel that has well remodeled rooms. It was clean, and a friendly staff and great breakfast for our group of hikers. The small town has only a few restaurants and shops, so... More

We just stayed at the Hotel Charlotte Sage House. It's a stand alone house in a gated community about a mile from the hotel. We chose this place since it was close to Yosemite and could accommodate all 7 of us. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The kitchen was big and there were decks on both... More

This a nice place to stay on your way to Yosemite it still is approximately 1 hour to the valley floor. There is not much to do in Groveland but a good place to get your bearings set for Yosemite. Across the street is the Iron Door Salon the oldest bar in California got go have beer. the rooms will... More

We had a great time! The hotel is quaint, very atmospheric ! The cost of the room includes breakfast and the breakfast is good! It was hot and plentiful. All employees and the hotelkeepers are warm and caring. Everything was clean and neat. The art on the walls are from local artists who are known and valued. The hotel has... More

We wanted to stay somewhere close to Yosemite, and there is not a lot to choose from! So we decided to stay here. I have never stayed at a B&B. I was impressed! The bed was great the room was very clean! The hotel it's self is very old and its a piece of history. Very satisfied,

We stayed here due to centralized location between Yosemite and old mining towns. I also liked to experience an authentic old mining town hotel. This hotel delivered on all points. The decor and atmosphere was very rustic (period furnishing) and due to the size - cozy. It was charmingly and tastefully decorated for Christmas when we arrived. (Please see photos.)... More
