Start by expecting a lot of European Travelers staying here. That's usually a good sign in my book because they tend to be trendy yet value conscious. How can call the oldest hotel in California trendy? Well, trends come an go, and historical properties with a full breakfast included, complementary Wi-Fi and great location are trending up. We picked the... More

We had the Just Juanita room. It is the "really nice room" on the hotels website. It was a really nice room but when the people next door took a shower at 6 AM the plumbing noise woke me. My husband sleeps with ear plugs so he was not bothered. The hotel has two buildings with one from the 1914... More

My husband and I were doing a whirlwind Sierra driving tour and decided on The Groveland as our last nights stay because they allow dogs.I think we were more than lucky to have found this great hotel. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area and its history. The food was great. Even if you're just passing through... More

The Groveland Hotel is an excellent place to vacation! The staff was very attentive and the food was excellent!!! My Lovely companion and I enjoyed the elegance of the place that took us back to the gold rush days and a very interesting place in time. We enjoyed having Rhonda as our waitress for breakfast! She always started our mornings... More

This was a lovely old hotel, complete with a haunted bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and decorated with antique furniture fitting for an old California settlement. Although it clearly has been here for a very long time, it did not have the musty odor that most old hotels in the woods has - everything was clean and fresh. The... More

We enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay over the MLK holiday weekend. We wandered around the town on Saturday and visited the museum (next to the library). It's quite something with historical artifacts and information, as well as cultural exhibits -- very well done and worth an hour. The hotel was comfortable and cozy. Antiques in every room with luxurious... More

It's tough to do a last minute trip to Yosemite without paying out the nose for a crappy place to stay somewhere not even in the park. This is a cute and cozy and affordable place to stay, (also not in the park). Groveland is a little locals-vibe town outside of the park (it's an hour drive to the valley),... More

Wonderful historic hotel. Very traditional B & B. Loved the ghost (Lyle), other guests had an encounter, we didn't. Spent two days. Breakfast the first day, Menu showed egg and bread dishes, but we're not available, Second day, fruit on the menu, but no show again.. Need to pick up the the quality for the price

I loved this place! We were checked in by Eunice and the Inn Keeper Peggy, who were both very friendly and inviting. The room was so nicely done There was a lot of love and attention put into the details, and where this can be over done and a bit tacky, These rooms were well executed. It was a great... More
