If you want to find a structured retreat away from civilization then Sivananda Yoga Farm is for you. It's about 3 hours north east of San Francisco and it's very relaxed and chill. The retreat has a set schedule from morning mediation, to yoga, to talks, to chanting. Of course all the food is locally grown, organic, and vegan and... More

If you're looking for a place to get away from everything, this is it. Yoga Farm is a rare home where you can be around good people, good food, and good living to find/remember what it's like to step off the hamster wheel. Be warned though... it's the kind of place people go for a few days and just don't... More

I've been with my family to Yoga farm (ashram) couple of times over the past few years. Truly a serene place. Its an ashram in true sense not a retreat. All volunteers are very genuine, caring, and really love their work. You've to help out with karma yoga - clean the kitchen, restrooms, etc. And believe it or not, you... More

I spent a week at the Yoga Farm January 2015 for a Meditation for Beginners workshop. While the workshop was for beginners the Farm itself I'd suggest is best enjoyed by those with prior yoga experience. The Farm is beautiful. The staff was gracious, and genuinely friendly. I learned a lot about yoga, meditation, and myself. Staying longer than a... More

Lovely place and wonderful people (teachers, volunteer staff and fellow guests), well worth a visit but please look carefully at the web site and know what you are letting yourself in for. I stayed to do the month long yoga teacher training course TTC, which was intense but very rewarding. Whatever your reason for visiting to reap the benefits be... More

This is great yoga retreat center. Includes daily yoga classes and yoga programs. Ashram serves healthy vegetarian food. Center has wonderful lake surrounded by cabins. I love to go there whenever I get chance.

The Yoga Farm is an exceptional location for teacher training. The month I spent there has had a very long lasting positive effect on my Yoga practice, and everyday life. The authentic, classical teachings include so much more than asanas. The landscape is near unbeatable, where one can observe wildlife, (LOTS of deer!), meditate, hike to outdoor temples, and to... I can't let this secret out but for the greater cause of humanity I must say that we need more places around like Sivananda's Ashram. It is a must in our daily stressful lives and a perfect retreat for mind and body. I visit often as a guest to partake in satsang, yoga, karma yoga and my visit is always... More

great place for intense yoga practice, no distractions in the middle of nowhere, I love sivananda ashrams because they practice all the forms, asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting, and high prana food. rustic, but affordable. I always meet great people there, and run satvically by swamis, just a good pure yoga experience all around.

I read about Sivananda Yoga Farm in a memoir about a year and a half ago and was intrigued. Once I decided to follow my heart and dedicate my life to yoga I knew that the Yoga Farm was where I would do my teacher training. I wanted a full immersion into the classical teachings...to live and experience life in... More
