If you want the true "Santa Barbara Experience" Bacara is the place to go. Prior to my first visit the only thing I had heard about it was that it was the place the Hollywood stars went to have their weddings. Now I know why...80 acres of unparalled natural, rugged oceanfront beauty coupled with casually POSH accomodations, an excellent restaurant... More

Spent a long weekend at Bacara in late January. The resort is nice, but just a bit short of what my chain hotel standard, The Four Seasons, is. What's good: hotel is away from Santa Barbara by 13 miles and is closer to the wine excursions, so if this is what you want, you get it. Hotel is well maintained... More

This hotel has been one of the most respected hotels in the Santa Barbara - just state of the art and gorgeous. Although I feel that it was most appropriate some years ago. Now it feels dated. We still loved our room with the cozy fireplace (with the awesome HUGE candles next to it that we kept lit our entire... More

What a great weekend we experienced at Bacara! The location was stunning, the staff warm and accommodating and outstanding food and beverage offerings. While we have been fortunate to travel extensively, this was truly a great weekend and a great surprise. We had no expectations and were blown away by the warmth of the entire hotel and staff. Next time,... More

My wife and I got away from the hustle and bustle of LA, and drove up to Santa Barbara for the weekend, and stayed at one of the finest resorts we have ever experienced - in the world. Bacara has everything! - From great accommodations facing the beautiful Pacific, to the best Spa ever, to one of the finest restaurant's... More

We are not 'resort people'. I always feel like if I'm going to travel somewhere, I should explore, rather than staying on one big, insular property. But I got my husband a night at Bacara & $100 spa credit through TravelZoo, so we gave it a try. As soon as we pulled up, we were treated like royalty. Even though... More

Have been to the Bacara once before and fell in love! This visit was delightful....upgraded to an ocean view room (what a view). The Spa was wonderful....pampered by the staff who went above and beyond. My only complaint was we had to leave! There is alot of construction going on but no noise and the workers try to be invisable....look... More

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to stay at the Bacara Resort. I have never been there before, but heard good things about it and felt it was good to get away for a romantic weekend. I was blown away by the property. The bellman when we drove up were right there to assist us with our car and... More

It's not often that we get a genuine, warm reception when arriving at a 5-star hotel with two young kids, in a minivan. But that is excactly what we got when we drove up to the Bacara, a very warm welcome indeed! And it just got better from there, the entire staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was... More

The Bacara resort near to Santa Barbara is remotely located on the coast past the Sandpiper Golf Club. Very friendly and efficient welcome. The resort has 350 rooms spread out in 26 buildings. The only room available to us with some kind of a view was a partly garden/ocean view room. It was a cozy room with a big fireplace... More

Thank you so much about your kind review of the resort. With 80 acres of beachfront property, the resort does have outstanding view rooms. Selections include the ocean, the beautiful grounds or our incredible pools. All are private with spacious balconies. While we are a secluded resort, please keep in mind we are only 20 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara.... More
