Santa Barbara area isn't cheap to stay so staying at Motel 6 wouldn't be our first choice but for the price it was perfect. The checkin staff, Isaac and the others were accommodating and helpful. The rooms are small but clean and pretty quiet. There are a number of places to eat. Trader Joe's is next door so for location... More

I wish I read some of the reviews before making the mistake of staying in this hotel! It was too expensive for what it is... but the shocking truth is, it stinks of chlorine that I awoke in a state of alarm at 1am, wondering what that awful smell is! It was so bad I got up, dressed, and opened... More

I have stayed in many types of hotels over the years including luxury ones. For this particular trip we were looking to save some $. We stayed here with our 2 teenage children around Thanksgiving for 2 nights. We had 2 rooms each with 2 double beds- not queen- this is important. I would not recommend more than 2 people... More

This hotel is junk. Imagine paying 160 for a cubicle furnished by big lots that reeked of humid must, cigarettes and chlorine. Not to mention the bed had broken springs, was harder than the floor and would crunch and bang with the slightest movement. The blankets, of which you have one are sewed to resemble a throw over the end,... More

This hotel is very similar to the Ibis chains in Europe where you get a no-frills experience at a relatively cheap price. You do pay a small premium for the brand name, if you can call it that. The rooms seem to be designed with the cleaning staff in mind and lack of anything more than a few rough towels... More

June 26/27, 2014. Room want ready till around 4:15pm. Modern looking? Not sure, I guess so. No carpet, all tile probably why it's dog friendly. Floors were very, very filthy. Dog urine not ruled out. Don't drop anything on the floor! Oh yeah, there are no drawers to put your clothes in. Floor and tub very slippery when wet. Not... More

I have to say... From the horror stories I have heard about Motel 6's, our stay wasn't even close to that; it was great! We were looking for an extremely cheap place to crash at during our apartment hunting in Isla Vista and this Motel 6 happened to be just that. I was a little shocked how pricey the room... More

This Motel 6 is a cut above their standards. Modern really clean rooms with good beds, and much better than average staff attitude and service. They called me a few minutes after checking in to see if everything was good----that was a first for a hotel in their price range ! Far better value than anyplace else I checked for... More

This was an ok place to stay if you have your dog along. The first room we got smelled of smoke, but the manager quickly got us another room. Basic rooms, clean, helpful staff and the best price in the area.

I stayed at this motel 2-3 times a year between 2008-2013. I never had a bad experience. They renovated the hotel a few years ago and it was a big improvement. It's always been clean and comfortable. The best bargain in town compared to the rest that charge $230-$350 per night. Very convenient to restaurants and general shopping. Hey, Starbucks... More
