Stayed here after a disastrous hotel in San Francisco that was double the price! It was so nice to have a clean room with kitchen area so we could cook for ourselves. Stayed at the Hawthorn and found the hotel to be a little better than average. The building and room was clean. All rooms only have a king size bed and a couch that converts to a bed. According to the front desk, no rooms with two double beds. The bed in the couch is less than good - not much... more

This started out as an above average stay, nice staff, ok pool and something for everyone at breakfast. The rooms are larger than most, but are laid out strange so they can call them a suite. My first experience with Hawthorn will likely be my last. Only one other car in the parking lot on my first night should have been a clear warning sign. Problems??? Really???
