Got this on Hotwire. Hotel is a long flight of stairs above a restaurant on Glendale's main street, Brand. Think 40's detective story old hotel. Rooms were another flight of stairs up from that, and were NY tiny. The bathroom was also quite small, but very clean. Bed was comfy. Strong odor of lemon-scented cleanser in hallways, a bit less... Had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We came out to Glendale from Phoenix for a wedding and I was happy I was able to find this hotel through tripadvisor. As others have written, there are a lot of stairs. Wasn't a problem for us and the front desk was more than happy to help with luggage. Parking wasn't bad... More

From reading the reviews I knew going in that parking and the stairs created an unusual access to the hotel. However, since I knew that before I stayed, it was not a bad surprise and everything else was great. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, not a lot of noise and the staff was very friendly. I stayed... More

I will start out by saying the room is very attractive and has a very comfortable bed. However there are too many quirky pieces here. First are the stairs to the second floor where our room was. There are many of them and very steep. And no elevator.very little room in the bathroom to set things. Very small room and... More

On a recent visit to Glendale, California we stayed four nights at the Brandwood Hotel. The location of this hotel is perfect. Easy access to all parts of LA. And great food and shops within walking distance. But: As other reviewers have noted, those stairs can be a real issue with heavy or multiple bags. Also, the soundproofing between the... More

Glendale is a great spot to stay in LA with loads of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We stay at the Hotel Brandwood which is a nice historic building with good quality rooms and a great bar on street level , only down side is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up two flights of... Very comfortable beds! Good location with parking lot close by. Great shopping center at walking distance. Clean and practical. Only downside: stairs. It's a historic building so no elevators. That sucked for me with so many big bags. Otherwise, great!

This hotel is a good news/bad news. The good news is that the location is terrific in terms of what is close by. The rooms are very nicely done, updated, very well kept, with a very comfortable bed. We had a family suite with two bedrooms, with a hallway in between and a large separate bath with a jacuzzi style... More

Boutique hotel walking distance to Americana on Brand. The rooms and lobby are on second story I don't believe there is an elevator, but they are very helpful and offer to carry your bags. If you have a problem with stairs, I wouldn't suggest staying here. Our room was 213. It had no view, but we didn't need or expect... More
