What's beautiful property! I'm actually enjoying the beautiful pool area as I'm writing this review. I'd be happy spending my entire trip laying by this pool! The grounds are very well maintained. The wine and cheese hour is delicious along with the homemade cookies they keep out for guests. Breakfast is a nice selection of an egg dish, meat, fruit,... More

Recently stayed overnight at the Gaige house.....Our room was located in the Main building.... (Asian inspired...a bit rustic...) we were informed by other guests that the other rooms were a bit more updated....the wine hour was fantastic...(although I noticed the carpet could use replacing...no doubt from spilling wine...ha-ha) the breakfast was fantastic...I agree with other people...you could lounge around the... I absolutely loved everything about the Gaige House. The drive was absolutely amazing. We were greeted by a very welcoming staff and we were just in time for the cheese and wine reception. I would recommend the Zen suites since they are situated off of the main house and are absolutely amazing. They are spacious with a private zen garden... More

We arrived around 530pm, just in time for the wine hour and cheese. Everyone was seated in a cozy room chatting. There was 4 of us and people made room for us to sit down. We ended up hanging out until dinner , about 8pm . The cheese was great and the wine was left for us to finish! It was... More

My wife and I spent three nights at the Gage House, and wish we had extended it to four or five nights. The Gage House is a large B&B or a small boutique hotel in Glen Ellen within minutes of several wineries and restaurants. The rooms vary depending on whether one is in the main building or a newer, adjacent,... More

We enjoyed two nights at the Gaige House. When we had a problem with our television we were immediately moved to another room which was delightful. We were upgraded for no extra charge. We had planned on watching the Academy Awards so in this case the television was very important to us. The second night some friends from Pacific Palisades... More

We stayed at the Gaige House for 2 nights during the week in February, celebrating our 15th Anniversary. We were automatically upgraded to their Garden Studio Suite, which was spacious, had a patio, fireplace, couch, king size bed and a jet tub and adjacent double walk-in-shower. In the morning we did hear the staff walk through briefly but that was... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on a trip to wine country. We were SO pleasantly surprised by both Gaige House and the little town of Glen Ellen. Gaige House has a bed-and-breakfast feel, but with modern amenities, and plenty of privacy. We stayed in one of the main house rooms, #11, which you walk outside to... More

My husband booked a room here for our VDay getaway and we enjoyed the romantic setting. The Inn is elegantly furnished in a contemporary Asian theme. Upon arrival and check-in, we looked for their famous afternoon cookies. The chocolate chip cookies were delish. The setting was idyllic and charming. We enjoyed the afternoon wine and cheese tasting. We awoke to... More

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Gaige House in Feb 2014. We had a wonderful time! The Gaige House is elegant, yet cozy. And it's the perfect place for a romantic weekend! The breakfast is great and there is also a small wine reception every evening! We can absolutely recommend the Zen Suites! It's not only large... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Tucked into the Sonoma Valley hamlet of Glen Ellen, the Gaige House feels like a secret hideaway. Of course, it’s not really a secret; the Gaige House is regularly recommended in Michelin and other guides, and has been listed repeatedly in Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List of the top hotels in the world. Gaige House is part of the prestigious Four Sisters Inns collection and is an elegant blend of vintage and contemporary architecture. The inn features 23 thoughtfully appointed guestrooms with a modern, Asian flair. The verdant, secluded setting along Calabaza's Creek includes an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, and is accented with delightful surprises in hidden spots: a hammock shaded with ancient oaks, a miniature pagoda in a rock garden, a gurgling fountain. After a day of visiting nearby wineries, boutiques and art galleries, return to the Gaige House to indulge in luxurious spa services provided either in-room, or outdoors in a peaceful and private cabana. All guests enjoy a complimentary, full breakfast every morning, and an afternoon wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. ... more   less
